The dark haired assassin with bright blue eyes frowned as he walked over to the no longer guarded crystal on the pedestal that he'd been tasked to retrieve. "Well that was far to easy." He chuckled. "You'd think this place would have better security."
"Hm... you'd think" the woman mused as she stepped out of the shadows and toward the object, reaching out and picking it up before he could.

"Did you manage to get what I was after?" The great ape would ask. It wasn't exactly the most valuable thing but Grodd did desire it for a future throne room.
Ruby opened her mouth to say something then closed it again, thinking it over before opening again
"I dont... this isn't the Aztec. I dont think thats how that works...?"
"You clearly are unfamiliar with my kind and tradition." Grodd remarked as he'd chuckled. "It's alright. You simply are uneducated." He'd say.
"I guess. Cause I dont see how a brain would give you his power. Like if you said intelligence it would make some sense but I mean.." of all the things in the moment, of course ruby would be the one arguing with the giant talking gorilla about the logistics of cannibalism
"Intelligence also comes with it. I eat his mind, I gain his knowledge and power." Grodd explained. "Perhaps I could show you sometime? Bring me someone and I'll demonstrate."
"Im good." She said with a small shake of her head. "Some people would decrease your intelligence anyway"

It was the first time they were meeting face to face and, truth be told, it didnt take much to surprise the woman anymore.
But this sure did.
He had sounded human. And still did. But he looked... like a giant gorilla. And not just in a big bulky hulk of a man kind of way. This guy looked like what you'd find on a safari.
"I can see why you didnt want to come see it during visiting hours" she mused as she held up the wrapped item in her hand after taking it out of her bag
Grodd usually kept himself hidden from any of the humans he had used in the past. She was no different. "Naturally. The citizens of this damned city would panic in my mere presence." Grodd mused as he'd take the wrapped artifact. "Excellent work my dear." He'd begin to say. "You've proven your reliably...for a human that is."
"Yeah, well, most people freak out if animals talk first off. Or if something escapes containment at the zoo." She looked him over and then gestured to all of him. "Combined? Gee I wonder why they'd panic."
"They're foolish." He'd say. "They will learn that they are." Grodd remarked as he'd gaze down at her. "I thought you would be taller." He'd say.
"And i thought you'd... have.. pants." Ruby replied as she tried to think of something to say in response. Normally her height could be a bit of a touchy subject in some circles but this was... an exception.
Grodd would roll his eyes as he'd intentionally parted his tree trunk like legs. "And contain my glory? I think not. Pants are for your kind." He'd say.
Ruby quickly looked away, trying not to react beyond that.
"I mean, i dont have one so I cant speak from experience but I feel pants have some protective benefits "
"I suppose they do. But I prefer to be in my natural state." The great ape would say as he chuckled as she'd look away.
"Then why are you in the city?" She asked, recovering and looking back toward him. "I didnt think gorillas natural state was among skyscrapers."

Ruby hadnt been expecting the cop to be able to hold his own against her. Getting caught setting up a murder scene wasnt part of the plan, and she especially didnt plan on getting caught by a police officer. But she had anticipated being able to escape him.
Getting out of her cuffs and the squad car; taking off through the alleys... she had NOT expected him to follow and be able to keep up as she climbed and dodged. If anything, this guy was better at it than she was.
By the end of the chase, she was on her back with hands over her head as she panted to catch her breath.
"Holy shit... I think im in love." She half joked as she looked up at the officer who had managed to catch her. "No way youre single though."

"You really don't give up do you?" Dick would say as he'd find himself catching his breath. Helping her up, he'd then begin to laugh. "I don't really go out with anyone who's well ya know..." He'd say.
"Got a record?" She asked, letting herself be cuffed again, hands behind her back. "Dont worry, I don't. Not yet." Ruby mused as she prepared to go back to the car with him.
She could try and explain herself but she wasnt sure he'd believe her. She still had to try and gague if she could trust him. After all, crooked cops is what got her dad killed.
"You sure about that? You just ran from an officer? Not exactly the smartest thing you could do." He'd say as he'd handcuffed her and then helped her up and lead her back down. "Come on." He'd say as he'd lead her.
"Mm.. you only cuffed me, didnt read my rights. So im being detained, not arrested. Difference." She mused with a smirk. "And if you ran my name all the way, you'd know I don't have a record. Aside from maybe a speeding ticket as a teen."
"We got a smart aleck here." Dick would say as he'd rolls his eyes. Taking a breath, he'd then begin.
"You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you. Do you understand these rights as I have read them to you?"
"Nope." She replied, popping her lips on the last bit. "Because you didnt read anything."
Ruby knew she was being a royal pain in the ass but she couldnt help herself. One, he aas just too cute not to mess with. And two, she currently didnt have any real worries about her situation in where she'd need to take it seriously.
"Alright. Come on already." He'd say as he'd lead her along. "I memorized the darn thing." He'd say. "You're such a pain." He remarked.
"Wouldn't mind if you became mine" she purred as she looked over her shoulder at him. "Hips, neck, hair... wherever you feel like... I don't mind the ache."
"Bet you'd love it if I got handsy. Sorry, I ain't the type of person." He'd say as he'd chuckled. "You that lonely that you're interested in a cop?"
"I know all about your type" she leaned back against him as much as she could. "And yeah... handsy. You haven't even done a proper pat down for contraband or your own safety"
Ruby tsked. "Youre slipping, officer."
Dick would roll his eyes before he would then simply slip a hand down and then began to press it against her ass. "Should I check between the cheeks." He'd retort as his other hand would pat her side.
Ruby looked over her shoulder at him. "You think I need a thorough cavity search?"
