Update
We want to thank everyone who has submitted in the past few months. Unfortunately, we have been incredibly busy in our personal lives and so have not had the time to put together Volume 2 of the magazine. We will instead be posting the submissions we received on this blog.
Hopefully next year we will be able to publish a second volume of Sapphix. Thank you for understanding, and we appreciate your support.
I don't see an FAQ, but I feel like this has surely been asked before. Does your publication consider a work that first appeared as a tumblr post to count as "previously published"? Thank you!
Work that has appeared as a tumblr post does not count as “previously published.” Thank you for your question!
Sapphix Magazine Vol. 1 is out!

We hope you enjoy reading the work and viewing the art of sapphic women like you.
Thank you so much to everyone who contributed.
Are you a sapphic writer or artist? Want your work to be seen? Submit to the second volume of Sapphix Magazine! We accept fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and artwork by anyone who identifies as a sapphic woman. sapphixmagazine.tumblr.com/submissionguidelines

Hey! Thinking of submitting, and just wondering where this will be published online? Like tumblr or..?
We're thinking of publishing it on Issuu.com and posting a link on our tumblr.
Do any submissions have to have explicit queer themes, or could they be about anything in particular?
They can be about anything.
Happy International Women’s Day!
When will the magazine be published?
At the beginning of June, for Pride Month.
do you think you could reword your submissions guidelines a little? im a non binary lesbian and would be very uncomfortable submitting artwork while your submissions guideline says i must identify as a woman to do so. maybe it could say "identify as a woman, or a non male aligned non binary person" ? im also a little concerned how it would look if i submitted it using my traditionally "masculine" name
Your concerns are valid. I’ve changed the guidelines to: “must identify as a woman (or as a woman-aligned nonbinary person).” Our magazine focuses on promoting the voices of women and women-aligned individuals. If you don’t feel that this applies to you, maybe it would be best to submit elsewhere. I’m sorry for the confusion.
if im a sapphic trans girl can i submit
Yes!
can i submit if im a nonbinary lesbian
Yes!
"we do not accept previously published work" what exactly would you count as published?
If your piece has been published in another literary magazine, we won't accept it. However, if you posted it on your blog, for example, feel free to submit it to us.
Thank you to everyone who has submitted so far! We are excited to receive more submissions in the following months.
I'm new to Tumblr–how do you submit? You only allow messages from people you follow
You'll have to visit our blog from a computer (this doesn't work on mobile) and click on the "submit" page. There, you'll find submission guidelines and the email address to send your stuff to. Sorry for the confusion!
