Yay, thank you!! I can't lie, I've left that fic in the dust, I feel like the movie isn't main stream enough for people to want to read AU's about. Also feel like it's a bit too freaky, and my AU wasn't conveying enough of the messages behind the sexual nature of both characters from the film so it felt more like a porn without plot fic than the original piece of media deserves.
Mention of self harm in this paragraph
This is mainly because I wasn't comfortable writing about some of the themes from the movie at such a depth as they do. Like the themes of self harm for example. They handle it with a strange delicacy in the movie that I couldn't replicate. While mine just felt like a tween's badly written angsty Wattpad plot, the film felt much more realistic, drawing connections with masochism and self harm without it feeling damaging for the main character. (Despite it literally being very damaging for her in the last few bits of the film before he gets his act together and accepts that she is in love with him).
So, yeah. I have given up the fic I am afraid to say, lol. but for good reason I think!! If you haven't watched the film, you definitely should. It's the 2002 movie called 'Secretary', and it's basically a much better 50 Shades of Grey, with less sex I think, and the dynamic between the two is much less on the nose than 50 Shades.
