my friend and i made up a heathers au where its the future and everyones alive and heather duke and kurt ended up becoming a broadway duo after getting into a little shop of horrors school play in senior year. they were casted as seymour and audrey and to make it better they spent more time together to bond and slowly became great friends

that college heathers au i talked about and its kram and also kinda angeleyes by abba

after the whole rumor of them being gay in senior year kurt got kicked out by his father and his internalized homophobia worsened, meanwhile ram throughout the summer ended up exploring his sexuality and managing to be openly queer

their friendship slowly weakened as kurt did not want people to think he was actually gay, and that by doing so maybe his father would have stopped claiming he was dead to him , even though, deep down, he knows that's not gonna happen, knowing damn well he just really wanted an excuse to get rid of him

although in college, they end up being put in the same dorm room, and while ram somehow tries to reach out to him, he stops trying after getting pushed away by kurt

ram starts to hang out with other guys, bringing them to the dorm room to talk and spend their time together, even with kurt in the room as well, and he starts feeling jealous they way he used to feel jealous when they were kids, when ram would play with martha, and kurt ends up despising himself for the way he feels.

tldr kurt is miserable while ram somewhat moved on
