fuck you for making me a poet.
let's be nothing, i heard it lasts forever.
"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."
-Winnie the Pooh
"If something burns your soul with purpose and desire, it's your duty to be reduced to ashes by it. Any other form of existence will be yet another dull book in the library of life."
-Charles Bukowski
I choose to love you in silence,
For in silence I find no rejection.
- Rumi
—Charles Tomlinson, from Poetry and Silence
oh to be so beautifully villainous.
When someone dies their silence becomes a sort of held note, a key on the piano pressed down for so long it becomes an ache in the ear, a new sonic register from which we start to measure our new, ruptured lives. A white noise. Maybe this is why there is so much music in dying: the funerals, the singing, the hymns, the eulogies. All those sounds crowding the air with what the dead can’t say.

low hanging bruised fruit tastes the sweetest. perfect for starved children.
you grew and you grew beautifully, but you'll never change. not in a month, ten years or a century. you will always bear the same fruit.
i have every resource in the world to extinguish the fire i spent my whole life building, but this warmth is all i've ever known.
"Live to the point of tears."
-Albert Camus
“Be mindful of the tone of your thoughts…”
“Truly / I try to be good but sometimes / a person just has to break out and / act like the wild and springy thing / one used to be. It's impossible not / to remember wild and want it back.”
— Mary Oliver, from “A Thousand Mornings; Green, Green is my Sister's House”, first published c. 2012.
i took all the love i had left over for you and devoured another with it.
my favourite homes are the ones i can leave
let love ruin you.
