One of our engagement photos from the fabulous Morgan Trinker. She is truly one of a kind behind the lens...

Skyline Residence, Portland, OR by Skylab Architecture
American firm skylab architecture has recently completed the ‘skyline residence,’ a 3,300 square-foot home on a steep site overlooking the willamette valley and oregon coast range. Sitting on a poured-in-place concrete plinth, two black masses rest on top of each other, perpendicular to one another with full height glazing oriented west towards the natural landscape.
The private spaces are located in the upper level within a timber frame construction, while a steel assembly supports the core of the house on the first level where the maple-floored kitchen is the focal point of the public functions. stormwater is channeled to the planters before returning to the grid, reducing the cost of irrigation.

Introverts need a lot of recharging time to gain energy. Being out-and-about, especially in social situations, is draining. Alone time is the only way to get that energy back. For me, it’s a lot of alone time. Not sitting in a dark cave staring at the wall, but somewhere comfortable where I can do other activities I enjoy.
