Plastic Surgery, Fillers, Botox, Lip Injections—- Do’s and Don’ts!!!
So, I get this asked a lot- “Have I ever gotten my nose done?”
To answer that question- NO! I haven’t!! Thankfully, I got my mothers nose.. Everyone on her side of the family has small petite noses!
I do have a teeny tiny little bump, that’s barely noticeable, but I’m not going to touch it, because knowing myself, if I start, I won’t stop! Lol
With that being said, there’s no shame in my game! I will admit to getting Botox done every 3-4 months (before I got pregnant) and I’ve also gotten my laugh lines filled in, as well as lip injections! Haha!
Like I said- no shame in my game baby!!
First I will explain the pictures above.. Then below are more specific details!!
The top picture is my “before and after” getting my lips done..
The top two are before.
The bottom two are after..
The bottom left pic is the day I got my lips done, the bottom right is about a week later.. You can see the swelling has gone down, the bruising disappeared, and they look less puffy/bumpy..
The pic under that is just recently..I haven’t had anything done in over a year since I got pregnant and I also can’t get anything done now because I’m breastfeeding.. My lips have gone down considerably…
(I’ve posted this picture before on my IG) But a great lip plumper is this Cynthia Rowland device! It works wonders! It’s non-invasive, no fillers or anything of that sort, but it does help in temporarily plumping your lips..

Now, Some people don’t agree with me in altering your body… They feel God made you how you’re supposed to be made. (And everyone has a right to their own opinion)
But in my opinion- I feel God also made plastic surgeons. :-)
If you are interested in getting Botox or Fillers, below are some of the reasons why I started!!
The main reason why I started getting Botox is that it’s preventative in the development of wrinkles!! I’m turning 30 this year, and I really began having it done about 3 years ago. Some might argue that it’s too early, but I feel like a good age to start is around 28-29 years old..
What I would suggest is at whatever point you begin to notice and are bothered by some of these things like frown lines, forehead lines, crows feet… it’s reasonable to consider starting treatment with Botox. My doctor says that it’s easier and more effective to inhibit progression, than to come in 10 years later and take them away. Botox does fade after about 4 months which is why you have to go back and get it done again. I’m not gonna lie, it does sting a little bit.. But with beauty comes pain my friends! ;-)
I also got my laugh lines and my lips done!! I’ve always had laugh lines growing up.. It’s genetic. My mother has them- And so does her mom.. I was never too fond of them.. Especially as I got older, It really did age me..
Also, my upper lip was very thin.. Basically, non-existent. I wanted that ‘juicy, full lip’ look.. So in these cases, my doctor suggested using a filler called Juvederm. It’s basically a filler that adds volume to the dermal or deep layer beneath the skin, helping to prop up the skin above.
I chose juvederm over restylane because juvederm is a smoother consistency gel, while restylane is more granular-( it’s causes those bubbles and unevenness that you sometimes see with people who have gotten their lips done.. )
I definitely recommend getting your mouth numbed before doing either one of these! It is painful, and it sometimes causes bruising..
But after a few days- you will look brand new! :-)
These fillers usually last about a year before having to go back and re-do!
Now, Don’t get me wrong— I thank God for making me who I am and the way that I am.. And I especially thank Him for my health and well-being.. These are just some slight enhancements that I wanted done for myself!
You should always be confident and happy in the skin that your in.. Confidence comes from within, and developing your confidence means feeling good about who you are, where you are, and what you have to bring to the table. Everyone can be beautiful on the outside, but always remember it’s what’s on the inside that counts!!!
