Seeing her at his front door had already been a surprised, his body had been filled with joy because he had the woman he loved back to him even if it would be only for a few days. Deacon was right when he would say that he was whipped, but who wouldn’t? The blonde woman had been able to make this world even better and there was no turning back. And as he listened to her words carefully, Samuel did his best to keep his expression neutral, because there she was with one more surprise. He knew how much she liked her job, and ever since she appeared at his apartment to talk about the fact she would move to California, he couldn’t be more proud of her. She was meant to conquer the world and he would never be the one to hold her back, so knowing such information caused him to wonder why. Only wonder, when she was ready she would share her reasons. “Are you okay? And… of course, I know it isn’t a fancy place but my home is your home. And Dog could use your company, I think he will like yours more than mine,” he shared a smile with her, moving his arm to touch hers with his hand, pulling her close to kiss the top of her head. For someone who had never been without a job in her life, Sarah would struggle. He was certain of it, but he would be there for her no matter what.
“I’m glad I was the first one you wanted to see, makes me think I still have my ways with you,” he teased her while turning his body to make his way until his phone. Dialing the number, it took a few moments until he was able to give his adress, order the pizza and hung up the phone. “You are amazing and smart and you’ve worked hard to be where you are right now, anyone would be stupid not to hire you, but… perhaps you could use this time to think, see what would be your next step, I’m sure better things are on your way… like me.” Winking at her, he made his way back, grabbing her hand, it felt good to have her around again. To be able to touch her, no more calls, no more texts instead of eye contact, of listening to her voice and being able to have her right next to him. For one single second he allowe himself to be selfish and to be thankful that she was back. “You know I’m here for you and if you need help figuring out what to do next, I can always hear what you have in mind, but for now, I just want to enjoy the fact I have you again until our food arrives.”
Although Sarah’s parents had always given her the best that they could give, had put her in private schools and sent her to the best universities in America, she had always been one to work for whatever she wanted. She had been going from internship to internship when she was in college, and even in high school, she would always volunteer to be responsible for social events or just about anything. She was a very active woman, and now that she had, for the first time, quit her job without any safety net to lessen her fall, Sarah didn’t know what to do. SHe didn’t know what to feel. Maybe that was why she had gone to Sam of all people, because he wouldn’t tell her what to do. He wouldn’t say she should do either this or that. He would listen and he would give her his fully support. That was why she was with him. That was why she was, with each passing day, falling more and more in love with him. Despite the distance, despite the days that they spent without seeing one another, the feeling was still there, and she wasn’t ashamed of it. “I think I’m alright.” She told him, after he had pressed a kiss on the top of her head, wrapping her arms around his neck, and stepping even closer to her boyfriend, caressing the dirty-blond hairs on the back of his neck. “Even if I am not, I assure you, that I will be. I just need some time to think things through, and I’ll be back on my own two feet again.” Leaning in, the blonde stole a kiss from his lips, then chuckled lightly. “Dog...” Looking over her shoulder, her glance fell upon the dog, curled up next to the couch, who looked up at her, and tilted his head confused at the mention of his name. “I promise that I’ll be the best roommate that you’ve ever had.”
Shaking her head, Sarah rolled her eyes letting go of him, to let her boyfriend go order the food. She wanted to go to his bathroom and take a shower, and she was going to do it, but the moment she was letting him know of her plans, Sam pulled her closer and she couldn’t resist him. I just want to enjoy the fact I have you again until our food arrives. He had, officially, become a problem. Sarah felt intoxicated, weakened by his chest pressed against hers, and the way her lips always seemed to find their way to his, or the way his hands had always felt good pressed against her body. “You’ll have me even after the food gets here.” She mumbled against the base of his neck, before working her way up, until she reached his jaw line. “I missed you so much. Even the scent of your after shave was on her pillow in California. It was maddening. I guess it’s safe to say that we can survive a long-distance relationship, we just don’t want to do it ever again.” Laughing softly, the blonde brought him down for a kiss, claiming his lips as her own, tasting the mint of his tooth paste, mixed with the mint of her own tooth paste, because she had washed her face and bushed her teeth when she landed in Wilmington. Her tongue brushed past his lips as they instinctively parted to welcome her tongue. It glided along his, twirled along his and before Sarah realized, she was walking towards the sofa. Once Sam sat down, she climbed on top of him, straddling his hips. “I missed you...” She whispered, before returning her lips to his.

callahansam:
It wasn’t a normal such as people would usually want them to be, while it would cause Samuel to be a monster in someone else’s eyes, it was part of his job to wait for soemthing tragic to happen, unfortunately he would live and work through someone’s tragedy. So as the fire started early in the morning, he was there to investigate how it all started, doing his part of the job. What started in the morning, got his entire day, as the press would be all over the station trying to get answers, trying to feed the news with something bad, injuried people, deaths, anything. So, when his shift was over, with a few clues that could lead him to the right answers, Samuel got out of the station heading straight to his apartment where his dog would be waiting for him.
He had just gotten out of his shower, as she walked until the kitchen ignoring the foot steps that would appear on the floor doing to his foot being still slightly wet, as he would refill Dog’s bowls with water and dog food. “You were a good boy today, Dog. I don’t see any mess in the apartment today,” he talked with his dog, tapping its head before he moved back to his room, to change to his pajamas. While he was at home where he could get comfortable, his mind would still be at what was going on, and as he moved back to his living room, the first find the man could do was turn the television on and change for the news so he could see if there was anything else the press was talking about, either the truth or what they assumed to be it. But his attention was quickly changed for the sound coming from his dog running until the door, waving its tail, filled with happines, before he could even listen to the noise of knocks on his door. As he opened the door, surprised filled himself as she looked at the woman who was supposed to be on another state, living in another city. “If you were aiming for the surprise element, you succeed.” He replied opening a smile before leaning close to kiss her.
How much he had missed her lips, Sarah as a whole. The kiss would show exactly that feeling that was surrounding him daily, the urgency to have her back, to have her. While he accepted her choices and would support her no matter what, he couldn’t say he didn’t miss her, because he did and so did Dog who was barking around them trying to jump on Sarah to say he also missed her. “I missed you too,” Samuel replied, closing the door behind her. “For how long are you staying?” He gave his dog space so he could play with Sarah, but he slid his hand down to hold hers. He looked at her, staling one more kiss. “As you can see I have nothing to eat yet, so we can order something. You can choose.”
The second Sarah saw him, she knew that she had made the right choice. She had never, not even once put anyone else before her--until Sam showed up in her life. And it wasn’t like she was choosing him instead of her career... It definitely was not the case, but her job in San Diego was not as rewarding as she was expecting it to be, and she missed him. Hell, she missed Sam like nothing else in her life. If she could, she probably would have jumped on him, but Sarah contented in simply wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him deeply, hoping that her feelings would show in that kiss; in the way that she pressed her body to his, and the way she didn’t seem to want to let go. Their kiss was, in no way short. It lasted for as long as their lungs managed to go without air, and when Sarah pulled away, her chest was heaving, begging for her to breathe again. With one hand resting on the back of his neck, a lazy smile graced her lips as she remained there, with her forehead touching his and her eyes closed. “I missed you.” Dog’s barks filled the corridor and she chuckled softly, crouching down to pet the dog’s head. “You too, my love. You too.”
Sarah asked him to help her with her bags while she focused on Dog for a moment. The last time that she had seen Sam’s dog, it had been over a month ago, and even though she wasn’t much of a pet’s person, it was safe to say that she had missed this energetic one. Sitting down on the floor, the blonde was smiling, rubbing Dog’s belly when she heard Sam asking that question, which, reminded her that this was one of the problems with surprises... it left the other person without much choice. “I... Quit my job.” She told him, shrugging her shoulders, before pulling her blonde strands over one shoulder. “I’m back for good, Sam. So, um.. Do you think I could stay here for a few days, just while I figure some things out? I don’t want to go bother my parents with it. I just--this had never happened before. Me, without a job. I didn’t know where else to go. I know I should have called--you know how I feel about surprises, but... From the moment I landed, I just wanted to see you. As for the food... I’m feeling pizza.”

Sarah hated surprises. She needed to be in control of everything, and, since surprises stripped her off of such power, the blonde absolutely despised them. Besides, she liked making plans, she liked having back up plans for her back plans, because things needed thing to go on smoothly, and perfectly. When Sam showed up for a visit, she couldn’t be happier and for the first time in her life, she was met with one of those ‘the heart or the head’ types of situations, and even though yes, she was getting paid more in California, she wasn’t as successful as she was in Wilmington. The only problem was: Sarah wasn’t one to beg for things, unless she was playing the part in a sexual way, but anyway... It only meant that she would not ask for her job back if she decided to go back to Wilmington.
For an entire week she pondered on the subject, before deciding to quit her job in Santa Monica and return to Wilmington. Seeing this as a failure would be a mistake and Sarah refused to be wrong. No, she was taking a step back in order to move forward. Luckily, she hadn’t had enough time to settle down, so, most of her things were still in boxes, which should be shipped back to Wilmington soon. She bought a ticket, she packed her bags and she said goodbye to the California sun, flying back home and hopping into a cab, straight to Sam’s apartment. It was almost ten in the evening when she got there, failure weighting on her shoulders to have realized that she had returned home with no plans of what to do with her life. None whatsoever. Maybe, she could have stayed and tried something else in Santa Monica, but, if she was quitting one job, why not try something else at home, with Sam by her side? Sam, who--not only had turned her whole upside down, but else, had been her constant, despite the short period of time that they had spent together.
She knocked three times on his door, opening a smile when he came to the door. “Hi.” The blonde said in a breath, before throwing her arms around his neck. “I’ve missed you.”
