Here is the “sleeve” I designed for Betazoid’s cassette tape, a band pic for social media usage, front of the download card, and back of the download card.
Visit betazoid.bandcamp.com to listen and purchase a digital download!
I like to describe Betazoid as a “Space Concept Babe Band.” The babes of Betazoid asked me to make the art for their forthcoming EP, Scam Likely. It was really really exciting to use the skills I learned in graphic design school over the winter in combination with old school colored pencil drawing. Here’s the primary image I created. I’ll post the full cassette tape insert and download card soon!
Currently working on drawings of things that mah girl Emma C uses as litmus test for gauging life's goodness. So, donuts.
This is the poster I designed for Twin Cities Zine Fest’s bingo fundraiser. Made sure to squeeze 2 tiny Yoko drawings into the poster ;-)
Spent the better part of my day off on a promo poster for Twin Cities Zine Fest Bingo fundraiser…. and on Grey’s Anatomy season 13 … stay tuned for the finished poster!

⚡️⚡️ BUNDT PAN ⚡️⚡️ update: I just dropped off 10 copies of my Bundt cake zine at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts shop. Get ‘em while they’re fresh/hot/steamy but wait until cool to frost. Your mom probably wants one for Mother’s Day. Also makes a great wedding shower gift when paired with a Bundt Pan. Oh god, I can’t believe I just typed that.
⚡️⚡️ BUNDT PAN ⚡️⚡️ is also available online from my etsy shop https://www.etsy.com/shop/skrshop !!!
A little video of me testing out my Floating Library book ;-)
ps i’m no videographer, sorry! not sorry!
And She Floats!!!! I used a water proof Polyurethane Laminate fabric (that I bought from a diaper supply website) and inserted pieces of foam inside the book. I obviously poked hundreds of holes through the fabric, so I don’t think that the book will float indefinitely... but at least if the book gets dropped into Lake Phalen it can be rescued!
Here’s my book! Wavy. The book is structured, loosely, after the way maps fold out. I liked the idea of how maps fold and refold, and how you can slowly reveal the whole map. I liked thinking about how maps are often refolded the wrong way...
For this year’s Floating Library, I proposed a floating/waterproof fabric book with wave/fish/mist/water patterns used in Sashiko, a Japanese style of embroidery. In April, I took a Sashiko class at the Textile Center, and I was certainly inspired and eager to keep working on my running stitch game ;-)
The Floating Library is a really cool public art project created by Sarah Peters. It’s a collection of artist made books all afloat on a raft with book shelves. Visitors paddle up to the raft to check out books from the library! This year the library will be floating in Lake Phalen -- starting this weekend!
Here are some process shots!
