Another rant.... I start Legend of Dugu (2017) bc old cdrama is always goated.
And it have such an interesting concept. It was prophesied that the Dugu will rule the world. And we have three brilliant and cunning sisters playing the game of politics and human chess. I... Am so scared to get attached to anyone honestly bc with these kind of drama I just know someone gotta die early and HE is not even guaranteed.
BUT I COULDN'T HELP BUT TO FALL FOR THIS GIRL OMG. This Is Dugu Ban Ruo, the eldest of the three sisters and she. Is. A. Badass. This scene over here? SLAY. LITERALLY. She slayed a horse without blinking an eye just to make a point and man that point was delivered. Homegirl is the coolest, richest, most influential woman ever and she knows it. I couldn't express just how calm and clever she is and she proved it in just one episode.
And this couple.... Her and Yuwe Hu...... THEY HAVE ONE SCENE TOGETHER THIS EP AND THEY COMPLETELY STOLE THE MOMENT.
I find them so intriguing bc im not sure if they really love each other or not. They're definitely using each other tho and they're not hiding it at all. Ban Ruo want to be empress and Yuwe Hu want to be Emperor. He needed her family and her influence, she wants him on the throne. It's transactional but at the same time they're just so appealing to me. Him getting horny hearing her plotting and look so ready to worship her, and Ban Ruo love having that power. They're like the evil couple, Scarlet Overkill and her husband lol.
Ban Ruo and Yuwe Hu are so good together because they're both ambitious, cunning, ruthless and will cut a bitch. They complement each other well. I'm rooting for them even if they are low key evil ð (I just know they're not gonna have a happy ending bc villians just could never ever in cdrama... But I hope they stayed until the end of the power game bc so far they're the strongest players).
LOOK AT THEM. Threatening each other in a caress whisper (legit their foreplay) , the tension between these two is insane. And another thing about their relationship is how fragile it could be. Again, they're both won't hesitate to get what they want even if it means hurting each other.
The line that Ban Ruo drew is her family. They are absolutely off limits (and this makes me love her even more). But at the same time, if her father become the prime minister, he would be a threat to Yuwe Hu. So if that did happen (and based on how the ep end, it's most likely), then Ban Ruo and Yuwe He might end up being enemies. So it all depend on the Dugu father. Both are not afraid to turn the table on each other.
It'll be such a shame though because they feels like the IT couple. They complement eahc other so well and match each other's freak and ruthlessness. They make me root for them just by how competent they are together and individually ð.

YWH, turned on: Why so serious? I'm is it joking.
DBR, smiling: but I'm not.
YWH: *gets even more turned on*: so let me tell you seriously, stop flirting with my cousin/br (idk lol).
THEY'RE SO FREAKY IT'S SO FUNNY. THEY'RE FLIRTING WHILE THREATENING EACH OTHER AND THEY WERE SO TURNED ON. GOD PLZ LET THEM WIN THE THRONE. IDC IF THEY'RE EVIL.
Okay moving on to the second sister: Dugun Man Tuo
She definitely showed that she is smart and as cunning as her sister. She, however, have jealousy and daddy issues. She thought her father didn't love her and was jealous of her other sisters esp Ban Ruo bc she's not legitimate. She always compare herself to them and all that. Man I hate character like her ð. As ambitious as Ban Ruo is, at least she would guard her family with her life. She have loyalty to the family bc she loves them. Man Tuo have no such qualm. I feel like even if she have to sacrifice her sisters or family she wouldn't bat an eye and that is dangerous. But we'll see more about her and again tbf, she proved herself a good schemer and is as calm and cunning as Ban Ruo.
For the third sister, Dugun Jia Luo, she is my least favorite and unfortunately, she is the protagonist (if the poster is ant indicator) and I got a feeling she gonna win everything.
She is the youngest. And she have this typical "I'm not like other girl, I love horse riding, archery and I hang out eith boys only and I'm spoiled and bratty af but always get away with it bc I spoke coquettishly and act like a child." She was dancing on my nerves I'm so sorry esp in the beginning of ep2. GIRL PLEASE. she's daddy's favorite and act so bratty I want to bash her head against the wall. STOP SPEAKING IN BABY VOICE.
That being said, she's the one without any political ambition between the siblings and ofc she would be the one to triumph because she's so selfless and good *roll eyes*. The scene in ep2 pissed me off so bad I'm ranting but goddddd you stupid spoiled child what is wrong with you???
We have have to see her character development I guess. I don't want to judge her too harshly so early in the show but I reallyyyy wish that she got a development and grew out of her spoiled naive phase. If she's gonna win the whole thing I want it to be because she's worth it and gain it and not because she have plot armor and kindness and the power of friendship. Please spare me. Especially when her two sisters are easy to root bc they showed more nuance, ability and effort more than she did even at this stage.
DUGU BAN RUO YOU'RE THE ONLY BITCH I RESPECT IN THIS HOUSE. Literally though, she have the most common sense and an iron grip over the situation. She managed her family household, she managed her siblings, she maintained the Dugu family reputation. She's literally holding the siblings together.She's the calmest and most rational I'm not even freaking kidding and this scene illustrates that.
"Maybe your husbad will show disloyalty. Maybe your children will be unfilial. But only your parents and your siblings will support you forever." SHE IS SO REAL. SHE'S A FAMILY WOMAN. SHE'S EVERYTHING. she's the only one setting her priority straight and use her head ðð. The whole family depended so much on her but her father still favored Jian Luo more. The curse of the eldest sister ð
GIVE HER A THRONE IF SHE WANTS ONE PLZ.
