THE book piracy site (ifykyk) was taken down today, and I've seen a lot of people celebrating, and from an authors perspective I get it, obviously, they don't profit from it and I don't support stealing others works, but from a readers perspective, not everyone can afford/access books they want to read, there are libraries, sure, but not everywhere, the fact that someone has Internet access does not mean there's a library near them, and just because your country has an online library, does not mean every country does

Also, I have spoken to some queer friends I have, and not all of them have accepting parents, hell, some of them aren't even out to their parents, and some of them are afraid that their homophobic parents might find physical copies of queer books, so for books with proper representation they have to rely on the internet

Plus, textbooks are both hard to find and REALLY expensive, and not everyone can afford them, but without good education, how are they gonna earn the money to do so

You obviously don't have to support the site, but please dont speak down on those who rely on it
