{ Collaboration Salvation (Durbe & Ryouga) (Author AU) }
Ryouga was grumpy, and grumpy was little said. He had the built up sourness to summon a typhoon potent enough to split the entire Pacific Ocean in two if he felt like it, but it was too damn early for that kind of shit.
He was used to it by now. Durbe’s unawareness of time wasn’t anything new, so it wasn’t unusual for him to pop up at his place at the most ungodly of hours. Then again even when he was aware of time’s flow Ryouga felt no difference. He still popped up at six to talk about stuff, or left when Ryouga was barely feeling awake at last (which was usual around five in the afternoon).
He expected a bit of consideration. Ryouga wasn’t a heavy sleeper, and aside from his most tired days when he’d crash at ten at the most early he barely slept. Worries would keep him awake as well as occasional nightmares and few people (Durbe included) knew that. It was one of the main reasons he reacted poorly to being waken up when he had finally gotten some sleep, but his friend was one of those people he rarely lashed at.
That didn’t mean he wouldn’t offer a good dose of sarcasm to show his discontent.
"I wouldn’t have slept better if I were the Queen of England herself," he said as he almost dragged Durbe inside before he changed his mind and closed the door in his face. Definitely too early.
The disconnect between Ryouga's exhausted face and his words did not seem to connect in Durbe's mind, as he just grinned while being pulled into the house.
"Ah, that's good to hear, I'm glad I didn't bother you too much..." he said, biting his lip and shutting himself up at the slight glare he received.
He followed Ryouga into a sitting area, placing himself beside him. Placing his folder on his lap, he darted his eyes around the room for a moment trying to find the proper words. Finally looking down he sighed and spilled out his thoughts.
"Apparently I've been doing bad even though I thought I was doing good, and my sales have been dropping but I know you've been doing somehow great as always, though I don't know why, so I thought I'd ask you for help," Durbe rambled out, realizing he may of said something questionable. Not caring too much, he continued on, "It doesn't have to be much, some pointers, some ideas, or a collab-"
Stopping himself, he looked away. He wasn't sure why that idea popped into his head suddenly, it was such a large thing that would surely scare even Ryouga off. Rubbing his hands together, he looked back.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to say that...but the other points still stand!"
