apart from knight 3, no other senators survived the destruction of hosnian prime?

That might have been a mistype on our part!  Apologies for that!  Other senators did survive.  Senators who supported the First Order through their ventures likely would have gotten an early warning, and a few other senators might have been working on things in their home systems.  But a vast majority are definitely dead.

KNIGHT 5 was originally the equivalent of a First Order IT specialist before Kylo discovered his Force sensitivity. His rise up the career ladder from lowly wiremonkey to black-op special forces was nearly overnight, but he has been getting used to it for the past twelve years. A small part of him is resisting the dark side, though, and he has turned to lesai to keep his mind still. More active in the smuggling rings, KNIGHT 5 has been shaking down ringleaders to discover who's been smuggling Force sensitives across the galaxy. He was last spotted heading towards Kaazdan.

Lost Padawan #1 (Rion Sonste) is taken, and as of right now there is not a blurb for her yet. All the other padawan blurbs are finished, though!

info on knight #3?

KNIGHT 3 was recruited shortly after KNIGHT 2. The force sensitive young woman, heir to an extremely wealthy private security firm, stumbled upon an old Sith artifact that sent ripples throughout the Dark side. She was quickly collected by agents of the Dark side and brought under Snoke’s training before the Jedi Purge. KNIGHT 3 is not a combatant but was placed in the New Republic chain of authority as a sleeper agent. Her wealth and connections made the rise to political power extremely easy. She is the Knights’ eyes and ears, undiscovered for the last decade, and took a vacation/leave of absence when the seat of the New Republic was destroyed by Starkiller Base. As the only surviving member of the New Republic a Senate, she is tasked with rebuilding the government on Coruscant, but for now has been relocated to a Resistance base on Naboo for safekeeping.

Certainly!

KNIGHT 2 was the first Knight, although Kylo Ren is the best. He stumbled into Snoke’s clutches as a deeply troubled young boy and re-established the order of the Knights of Ren. When Kylo turned, only his superior power and force sensitivity allowed him to beat KNIGHT 2 and claim the title of Knight Master. When the Knights marched on Luke Skywalker’s Jedi temple, no other Knight shed more blood. When Kylo got word of the Force-sensitives on Nar-Shaddaa, it was KNIGHT 2 who went with him to take the girls, and it was because of him that they managed to recover RAZIA. He is loyal to Kylo and Snoke alone, and among the Knights has a reputation for saying little and liking his fellow Knights less. Most of the Knights stay far away. Also a master of deception, KNIGHT 2 specializes in assassination and reconnaissance. He prefers to use the Force and hand-to-hand in close range, but never comes to a fight unprepared. He was last seen leading a classified operation on Tatooine.

KNIGHT 4 is the second-youngest and most recently initiated Knight. He was raised with two vornskr pups by a family loyal to the First Order as an eventual contingency of Order 66. KNIGHT 4 has spent his life training and Force-manipulating these vornskr to seek out Jedi and other Force-sensitives, to kill them or heel at a command, and hopefully taste the difference between dark (friend) and light (enemy). What the vornskr handler hasn’t mentioned to anyone is that the training only took to one of the pups; the other backfired spectacularly and, while great at posturing and looking scary, is virtually harmless and not at all hostile to the Force.

so... what about the knights? are they like sith? are they like storm troopers?

So the Knights of Ren aren’t necessarily Sith, but they aren’t necessarily troopers either.  They’re an organization that operates entirely with the Dark Side of the Force under the command of Snoke.  Members were either taken and trained from a young age, like Jedi, or they were lured to the Dark Side by other means.  How we’re going to be handling it (and it might be canon-divergent) is that the lower-ranking Knights operate like Snoke’s enforcers.  They carry out his will and the will of the Dark Side, eliminating Force-sensitives who seem to be siding with the Jedi and threats to the First Order.  If you’re curious about canons, we’ll be posting about them later today!
