As D-ne tugged, A-ya had held the plushie tightly, wrapping his little arms around its body. It was his. It wasn’t hers. It had been given to him. Ah, but she didn’t let go, even when he had told her that, and eventually she pulled so hard on the plush’s leg, it was torn right off.
A-ya looked down at the plush’s missing limb with a small sigh as D-ne continued on. Why was he being blamed for this? This was why he had such a hard time talking to people…
“Can you give that back?” He pointed to the plush’s leg in her hand. If she’d hand that back over, he was sure his mom could fix it…
Balling her small hands up into fists, she simply stamped her feet on the ground, clutching the plushie’s leg in her hand tighter. A-ya didn’t seem to be fazed by the whole thing at all, even though it was his plush that had been ripped.
Pouting and furrowing her brows, D-ne shook her head furiously. “No! You’re not having it back.” D-ne pointed towards the rest of the plush in A-ya’s arms. “I still want it!”
“I wanted to play with it but A-ya didn’t let meee. I only wanted to borrow it.” Being the sulky child she was, D-ne wouldn’t give in that easily, even on such a simple thing.

“There are apparently a lot of ghosts on the island. For instance, remember when I told you about the ghost of the old theater? That one is true. And apparently, there’s a haunted elementary school that’s been abandoned since a fire killed a bunch of students there.”
“So the question is how they stuck around as ghosts instead of being revived. I have some theories, but….” A-ya smiled, happy to hear D-ne’s suggestion. Coincidentally, he was just thinking the same thing. “I think that might be a good way to find more information.”
Clapping her hands together excitedly, the thought of going ghost hunting for the first time in ages sounded almost too fun, especially since she had been getting on with A-ya a lot more lately.
“The haunted school sounds interesting! I’ve only really heard of haunted hospitals and houses before.” A school would be a change, but she couldn’t help thinking that it might remind them of their old school and the events that had taken place before arriving here. In the end, her curiosity overtook everything else, nodding to A-ya with a smile. “I’m sure we’ll find something in there!”

D-ne assured him it was fine, although he was still prepared to say it was his doing later on. Frankly, B-ko was already too harsh on D-ne, and if it caused drama, that would be a problem for everyone. And yet, though he’d take the blame for that–
“How should I know?” He would not step up for what he actually did. Nope. Not with her squinting at him like that. Instead, he lazily shrugged his shoulders and continued. “Maybe someone cut their hand while they were cooking or something.”
B-ko had been getting mad at her a lot lately anyway, so once again wouldn’t make much of a difference. Even still, D-ne was grateful that A-ya would take the blame for him, even though it wasn’t his fault. Something still seemed... off about the plates however, and her suspicions of A-ya only grew.
“I see... As long as no one is seriously hurt.” By that she meant, as long as B-ko was safe then it was all okay. Finishing sweeping up, she moved to dump the shattered pieces into the bin. “...We should probably replace those soon. Maybe they won’t notice that they’re missing if we do.”

“The life of the house? Ahah.. I wouldn’t say that D-ne.. I’m just as antisocial as the rest of you?” It dawned on her at the comment. The reason as to why she had always been so accustomed to being around D-ne, was none other than those heart-felt compliments that fueled her ego. The brunette had been so push-and-shove about her friend as of late, but a moment like this one was a definite reminder.
“Ne, ne, D-ne you don’t have to go to all these lengths for me?” Settling and watching a film together would be kind of nice though.. .. Ah. “But, I guess if we’re to watch a movie, tea would be best, wouldn’t it?”
It wasn’t as if the compliments were hard for her, they just naturally slipped from her lips like every other word now that she was so accustomed to it. Hearing B-ko agree to the movie just sent her spirits soaring as she nodded excitedly, rushing out of the room to fetch the tea, and after the few minutes it took to make, she came back in - more slowly this time, she didn’t want to spill it after all.
“Here you go!” D-ne gave her a happy smile as she carefully handed B-ko the drink, setting her own down on the side for the time being. “What does B-ko feel like watching today?”

“You’re interested too, huh?” He’d wonder if that was true, if she hadn’t offered to help. Why would she, if she wasn’t interested? Anyway, it was more fun researching if he had someone to talk to about it, and with B-ko and C-ta otherwise preoccupied, he was really glad that D-ne had shown up here.
“Right now, I’m looking for new stories to investigate….” A-ya put on a thoughtful expression as he continued. “I’m also hoping to find out how ghosts exist here. Everyone comes back, right? So maybe there’s specific circumstances where they die permanently instead and become a ghost.”
“That’s true... I always thought it was really weird how everyone comes back, but I suppose that’s a good thing for some!” She didn’t join the occult club for nothing-- well, she did join for a certain someone, but had to have some interest in it all that time right?
“I haven’t heard of this happening before though..? But there must be ghosts here..” A pause for thought, the same expression as A-ya had on as she thought about all the weird happenings that had happened on the island since they arrived here. “Maybe we should hunt for ghosts or something first~”

Watching D-ne zoom about here and there was a wild ride itself. The thump she made on the floor had shocked B-ko some, but then seeing the box of tissues a hand reached out to grab a few.
“Ahah.. D-ne always gets like this when I’m in some kind of catastrophe, doesn’t she? I just hope you aren’t jinxing yourself and you catch a second cold.”
“We can’t have B-ko getting ill, she’s the life of the house.” Smiling brightly at B-ko, D-ne’s only thought was that even if she got a second cold, then maybe B-ko would look after her like she was doing for her now. One could only dream.
“Would B-ko like some soup or tea? Oh! And we can watch one of your favourite films to distract you from the cold~”

Oops.
No matter how you look at it, this is kind of his fault. Not only was he the one to get blood on the plate (listen… the summoning didn’t work so it doesn’t matter anyway), but he’d also surprised her so badly she dropped them all.
“Just tell her I did it, since she’s always mad at me anyway.” A-ya frowned a little, rubbing at the back of his neck. “I’ll get new plates. Lets just clean this up for now.”
“Oh, no no, it’s fine...” Luckily enough it wasn’t a large stack of plates, simply enough for the four of them to eat from. Moving to go and pick up a dustpan and brush, she set about scooping the little fragments into the pan. “I’m sure she’ll understand-- Wait.”
“You said blood...?” The girl picks up one of the shards, seeing the drops of red contrasting with the white. “Where on earth did that come from?” and queue the squinting intensely at A-ya.

“No! It’s mine!” D-ne whined, the young girl tugging on the leg of the plush they held between them. Glaring at A-ya intensely, she stared right into his eyes as she gave it one final tug– and off came the leg, ripping with a loud tearing noise.
“Oh no– A-ya ripped the plushie!”
“Oh wait. That had blood on it.”
Cryaotic sentence starters.
“What?! Where?!” She instantly drops the pile of plates in her arms, falling with a crash and smashing into pieces. “–No! B-ko-chan will be so mad!”

“What these? …I guess. There’s some books here about ghost sightings on the island. One is about stories one of the previous civilizations here had.”
At the bottom of the stack was a book about crime on Solitude, though he didn’t mention it. He’d grown curious due to some strange facts. Admittedly, he could probably just ask Izaya or a detective what questions he had, but he thought it might be better to figure it out on his own.
“Were you looking for something here? I could probably help you find it since I spend so much time in the library.”
“Oh, that sounds pretty interesting~” D-ne smiled, nodding at the books. She was actually being honest, as she did think it could be quite fun to know more about the island that they were currently trapped on.
“Nothing in particular-- just browsing.” A light chuckle escaped her lips as she waved a hand at the books he was carrying. “Perhaps I could help you with your.. research, it could be fun!”
nisenohito
“ah.. .. Yeah, it’s me D-ne. I’m not entirely sure.. I might have a cold..?” Sniffling her nose a little bit, it really did feel gunked up in there.. ..Ah but another blanket.. .. at least it was warm and cozy. “You’ll catch a cold if you’re near me.”
B-ko had a cold? A thousand alarms went off in her brain as D-ne rushed about to grab tissues, put the kettle on to boil water, and then plop herself back down next to B-ko.
“We’ll get you fixed up in no time! It doesn’t matter since I already got a cold this winter~” She let out a giggle, seeing B-ko in such a vulnerable state sure was amusing.
nisenohito
“Why does it feel so cold in the house lately…? ..Ah.. Screw it I’ll just stay wrapped up in the fort..” Back to curling herself up in blankets and watch tv.
“Hey B-ko is that you talking-- what’s wrong? Are you okay? You don’t look so good.” She’s rushing over to B-ko’s side to put another blanket over her.

“Oh, D-ne, I wasn’t expecting to see you here.”
A-ya spoke calmly, as though he hadn’t almost walked into D-ne when he turned the corner around a bookshelf in the library. It’s a good thing he hadn’t, or that stack of books in his hands would be all over the floor. If the papers he was using as makeshift bookmarks fell out, he’d lose a lot of progress in his research.
“Oh, A-ya!”
The girl had been looking in the library for, uh, research purposes. Honestly she wasn’t surprised to see A-ya in here, and there was no doubt he was looking into some sort of legend or something.
“What are those? They look important.” D-ne gestured to the armful of books he held.
"D-ne-chan, do you mind if we talk?"
“Ehh… I suppose if we have to… I wouldn’t mind.” Considering there was a few things that she had been wanting to talk to C-ta about herself.
nisenohito
Leave it to D-ne to be the one to get drunk out of the quartet. Shaking her head, she began searching about the Ball Room for the purplette. Considering the talk of punch.. she figured her to be somewhere close by. Only an idiot (ahem, like D-ne,) would decide to drink that much without figuring out the punch was spiked.
“There you are.” She mouthed, just before her friend seemed to hit her knee on a table, spilling another person’s drink all over their shirt.
“D-ne, seriously?!”
Stumbling back and forth in a drunken wobble, D-ne leant heavily on the table, trying to gain some sort of stability in her current state. So someone had decided to put some sort of alcohol in the punch that she had been drinking all evening.
“B-B-ko!” The girl had attempted to rise too quickly, stumbling into the table, which knocked into someone, who then spilt a drink over themselves. Instead of an attempt to apologise, she simply broke out into a fit of giggles, clutching her stomach.
“Did y-you see that! He just! It just went..!”
nisenohito
“In..?” A subtle raise of her brow as D-ne trailed away from the subject. It was possible the subject itself didn’t exactly matter, but her curiosity was a well known trait.
“Ah– It’s just that no–” Suddenly not wanting to give D-ne the upperhand at the thought of no one but her approaching for a dance. Even A-ya had come to start dancing with more people than she. “…Hhhhh…” She fumed quietly at the emphasis the purplette seemed to put on her boyfriend’s name. “C-ta probably doesn’t know how to dance is all. And I’m not going to force that on him if he doesn’t want to embarrass himself.”
Seeing B-ko get wound up from her words was certainly something she found amusing, and she let out a tiny giggle at her reply. So C-ta didn’t know how to dance either, what an amusing sight it would be for C-ta and A-ya to attempt to dance with eachother.
“I see I see~ That shouldn’t stop you from getting out there! I’m sure there’s plenty of people that would want to dance with someone as pretty as B-ko!” Like herself for example - she would very much like to dance with B-ko.
