New this week: Henry's Fantastic.

Henry's back with his title track: Fantastic. This time, with no backing from other SM artists. Honestly, I think this would've been more appropriate for his debut than bolstering him with two well-established artists. It does a great job of displaying his talents and strength as a solo act.

The song, while not straying far from typical SM, proves to be pretty striking with the violin and the good, if not a tad cheesy, hook. It feels confident, but not overly ambitious. 

In regards to the music video, SM didn't strain any creative muscles here. Flashing box to dance in, check. Ambigious storyline, check. Re-use of themes and environments from other SM mvs, check. It is pretty boring honestly, the only point that stood out to me being the hilarious transformation of the violin into the girl. I'm happy that it doesn't feature any of their horrible zoom effects although the editor does seem to think the blur transition to the exact same close-up shot of Henry's face is so good it needed to be used twice.

The full album drops of the 14th with a total of 6 tracks, including tracks produced by Chanyeol of Exo and Infinite's Hoya, but before then you have this week's SASSAT ~ it's gonna be fantastic.

With there being no SASSAT on this week, I thought I'd at least talk about the best thing to happen in K-pop for a while. f(x)'s comeback with Red Light is excellent. Stylistically, the mv's really interesting and a good change of pace from the girls' regular fare. 

The song isn't unique to them as I believe SM bought the rights for it, but it is still very different for k-pop. They changed the original in a few places and added more of a chorus which I don't know if it was really necessary. I feel the changes are more to make it more 'k-popy' than for any other reason, but I'm fine with that.

Editing and lighting are probably the best part of the mv. Cuts and camera moves are synced to the beat very well and the atmosphere created by dark tones and neon lighting perfectly fit with the song. 

All in all, I loved it. f(x) is probably my favourite girl group so I always appreciate it when they don't get stuck with a crappy song to promote for a month. The full release comes out on the 8th and my body is ready xD.

History is back with their new music video for "Psycho"!

Let's just take a moment to point out the hilarious inaccurate similarities between this music video and Bang and Song Ji-Eun's alternate performance/mv they did for music bank when they were promoting, seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6VHUAJFY2s 

Okay, going back to History, what more can a girl want right? Hip thrusts, crotch rubbing, bondage, boy-on-boy action and hair pulling. Jokes aside, the song is pretty easy listening, and the english is pretty good, I have to say. Although, this song has unexpectedly sounded completely different to what I initially thought from just looking at the teasers, which isn't bad, but I feel like they were going to go for a more daring feel like Vixx's hyde, but nonetheless they didn't fail to deliver, as I prefer this song over their others. The storyline was not top notch and in reality, would you say no to a boy with eyeliner? :p

On another note, can we just laugh about the tunnel set that has been reused from many previous kpop videos, such as: U-kiss's Believe, Teen Top's SupaLuv ending, Shinhwa's Venus and C-Clown's Solo (kinda).
