Specialist pathway
Finally continued the characters for the specialist pathway. I’ve decided to make it easier for myself and have the characters have buttons for eyes like in Coraline.

Final submission
So after trying to open a corrupted version of this I’ve just spent the last 6 hours or so redoing the lost progress and getting this ready for submission. There are still plenty of things to do and to make but so far it stands as the product we wanted to make in the beginning bar the kitchen having gameplay.
Visually it’s there though.
I have had countless issues with this project and am happy with how it stands visually currently.
I worked on the majority of the 3D assets apart from:
Duck in the bathroom
Toys in the bedroom
Bed
Bookcase
Desk and things on the desk in bedroom
Bathtub
Towels
Toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, shampoo and conditioner
Toilet and sink
Tentacles and wall eye
I also worked on the compiling in Unity and most of the technical issues such as coding and making sure everything worked correctly during test runs.
Leading up to the showcase we plan to have more rooms and a few more assets in these rooms such as:
Bathroom lamp
Bathmat
Milk and cookies (collectable in kitchen)
Apple crate
Knife rack
Chopping board with food

So we’re finally done. Or are we?! (… Yeah we’re mostly done ^,^”) It’s absolutely amazing to see the game develop from a vague idea to a vague whitebox to an actual game looking game!
We’ve experienced many ups and downs and mehs and existential crisises throughout the production, but fortunately I had an amazing partner that was there for me for everything. I couldn’t have done it without you Chloe, so thank you for everything! I feel like I could have/should have done more work and I feel so bad for Chloe that she took on all of the scripting. The true MVP for this project is definitely her!
I did concept art and the textures for the game (and I modelled the rubber duck). As well as the graphics/logo and poster.

Crooked - poster
Crooked - dialogue images
We decided to make certain items interactable. So in this example if the player presses e they can view the astronaut toy up close and a bit of text will show our protagonist’s thoughts about them. Unfortunately we couldn’t get the text bubble to work in Unity for the submission, but we’ll try and make it work for the showcase.
“With a sudden sensation you’ll want to put this apple in your mouth in one bite.”
Crooked - game font
The font is based on the Stereofidelic font, but we wanted the font to have a handwritten feel to it, so we ended up writing it ourselves.
Textures
Bedroom wallpaper, kitchen wall, roof, wooden floor textures
Crooked - game music
This is the background music for our game. It is produced by Rye Grover from Ravensbourne and it is exactly what we wanted for our game! We wanted the music to have a childlike, but vaguely eerie feeling to it and be subtle enough so as to not distract from the actual game.
We can’t thank Rye enough for his amazing work and he produced it so quickly as well! Check out his other work here: https://soundcloud.com/ryegrover and https://www.facebook.com/ryegrovermusic/
Additional images
These are images to put in the photo frames that decorate the hallways in the game. I wanted them to look vague and creepy, hence the black and grey that is used for most pictures.
Bonus:
hallway... art... I guess???
Business Card
A quick business card concept for our game in order to visualise our branding. This is for the project showcase, professional practice.
Jared
So I finally got around to modelling Jared, our protagonist. Modelled after Saskiana’s sketch. Originally he was more humanoid shaped but after talking to Ben and Alex they felt we should keep him more simple and ambiguously shaped. We felt a simple Rayman esque style would fit the game and overall aesthetic whilst making future animations easier to do.
I’m happy with how he’s turned out and feel he fits the game perfectly.
It is amazing to see Jared finally come to life. Great job Chloe! ^ω^ ♡
T shirt designs
A few rough concepts for t shirt designs for our game. This is part of the branding and project showcase/professional practice.
Bathroom rubber duckie
I modelled this rubber duckie for in the bathroom, since we couldn’t get the file off of one of our year 2 assistants.
Crooked - website and logo
I tweaked a couple things for the branding of the game. I made a logo for the game (our protagonist’s head) and made the logo seem more hand written.
Wall textures
Hallway wallpaper, outside bricks, and bathroom tiles.
Bedroom drawings and poster
Decorative drawings in the kid’s bedroom. He loves space, dinos, and superheroes (and drawing).
