Inktober - Day 3 - Familiar
My experience with shadow people
I have had many encounters with shadow people because I try to learn a lot about them and the more you hear about them and the more you think about them the more they show up. I have had a few major experiences with shadow people. The first one being when I was ten. I woke up in the middle of the night with cold sweats and i felt paniced. I looked around and saw a small shadow sitting in the corner. It looked as if it was a kid sobbing into his or her knees. I said "hey" hesitantly and it sort of looked up at me and whispered something inaudible. Then I said "I see you there you look sad why dont you come up here and join me in my warm bed. Don't worry I promise I will try my best to not roll onto you." I heard what sounded like a laugh it moved twords my bed and just sat there touching it. Then it went under my bed and i did not really mind if it was happy so be it. My next experience was three years later. I was in my basement alone doing laundry. I felt like i was not alone. I knew ghost were in my basement but this felt different. This was a bit more familiar, i turned around to see a light shadow in the farthest corner of the basement just standing there. I walked closer and said hello it seemed to get upset kind of like a dog if you just pet it and don't let it sniff your hand first. So i backed away and went back to what I was doing. It came closer over time i ended up sitting in my basement throwing knifes at my target with minimal light on just to keep the shadow company. While this is happening I kept hearing boots hitting the floor of the basement and things moving slightly. It did not bother me much. Then I felt like I was being grabbed, it was terrifying but the shadow noticed immediately and vanished and then the grabbing disappeared but i swear to this day i heard something say "Go. Now" so i did i turned off all the lights on my way up and went up stairs. Because of this I invite shadow people who are not evil and have no ill will.
Book of shadows. ) O ( Blessed be my people.

It started out with a sketch, how did it end up like this? It was only a sketch, it was only a sketch⊠I donât know what happened to a simple doodle of my hand but I had a very relaxing night drawing, I hadnât drawn in absolutely ages. I was drawing literally anything that popped into my mind, so apologies for the mismatched symbolism.
May You Finally Learn of the Pain You Have Caused
Several of my friends and I have been plagued by some rather unsavory people. Many times I suggested cursing, but always while I was extremely angry and not thinking very well. After calming down tonight we discussed a much milder spell that simply makes people acutely aware of the pain and anger they have caused, and to not forget it for quite some time.
Supplies:
One red (or any color you associate with anger) candle.
A candle holder.
A small bowl, preferably in a color that you feel connected to (I used an orange one).
Some water (I used some from a bottle I happened to have. Since I live in the desert and have to hide what I do, moon, rain, sea, and storm water isnât exactly something I can use, but if you have something that works for you, use that).
A lighter.
A smallish piece of paper.
A black pen.
A red pen.
A smallish length of string.
Any stones, candles, music, etc. that may enhance your powers.
Prep:
Clean the area of anything you donât want to be contaminated with angry energy. Remove any clothes or jewelry you donât want contaminated, either.
Collect whatever you use to cleanse yourself, your tools, and the area around you after working with bad energy.
Write out what the person has done to you with the black pen I recommend writing it in a way that flows most naturally to you. If youâe an eloquent motherfucker, write some bomb-ass poetry. If you feel more comfortable writing âu fucked up my shit,â by all means write that out. Just make sure it feels Right (revision may be needed). End it with âMay you finally learn of the pain you have caused.â Then, write their name or whatever you most know them as (like âAssholeâ or âVomit-Filled Condomâ) above it in red.
Do whatever you do before casting a spell-cast a circle, light a candle, etc.
Turn off/put away anything that might distract you, then turn off the light(s).
Getting This Show on the Road:
Sit with the empty bowl in front of you, with the candle behind it.
Light the candle, then pour the water into the bowl. You might want to visualize this personâs ill will seeping into the water as it pours into the bowl.
Gently dip your fingers into the bowl, and begin envisioning the subject as best as you can.
Speak their name, then say âYou are guilty ofâŠâ and then read off what you have written.
Close your eyes and imagine all the bad things theyâve made you feel circling them, faster and faster.
Say âThis is what you have done,â then roll up the paper, wrinkling it a little. Tie it as tight as possible wit the string. Say âMay you never forget it/May you remember this for X amount of time/whatever you see fit.â
Close your eyes again, imagining all your pain, anger, anxiety, etc. crashing into them, then blow out your candle.
Store the roll of paper. I recommend not throwing it away, in case you want to end the spell sooner, or intensify it. If youâre confident in what youâve done though, dispose of it in any way you choose.
Do whatever you need to do to cleanse yourself, your tools, and the area around you. Then, treat yoâself. You deserve it.
I wrote this spell with the intention of casting it on someone thatâs REALLY pissed me off. Not because they cut me off while driving or some shit, but because they have seriously hurt me or someone I care about. Please keep this in mind as you consider doing this.
Every witch/wiccan/pagan who reblogs this will get the name of a deity your blog reminds me of c:
Magical Visualization - Some Basics
When I started practicing I was practically tormented by all this talk of visualization. âVisualize the energy going in to the candle.â âVisualize yourself being purified.â âVisualize the spell going to its destination.â I mistakenly believed that visualization meant I had to see the thing with my eyes, or have it play out like a movie when my eyes were closed. I think when it comes to understanding visualization, the first step is,
Donât be overly concerned with âseeingâ things. Witchcraft is heavily involved with expanding yourself, connecting with the world, and sensing energies around you. Donât throw that all away and focus on one single sense.
I think that instead of focusing so much on sight, we can say that visualization = imagination + willpower.
Raise your hand if youâve ever had a daydream so real that it very much affected you. Or if youâve ever imagined someone saying something so clearly in your mind that it affected how you truly think about them. What happens in your mind and your imagination isnât fake or non-real. As a witch, you need to expel the concept that what happens in your head doesnât affect real life. Imagination is the basis of visualization.
When a guide or spell says âput a lot of energy in toâŠâ or, âraise energyâŠâ or something similar, it is partially talking about using your willpower (there are other ways to work with energy but this is an important and basic one). Have you ever wanted something so much that it hurts, or thought something so intensely that it made you shake? Have you ever held an image in your mind so dearly and desperately that you felt it was more real than the real world, almost as if it was a physical thing sitting in your head? You were using willpower to raise energy. That is why these experiences can be so draining - we gather our own energy, release it, and then weâre drained.
If a spell says, âvisualize the candle being filled with pure golden light,â simply try imagining it to be so. Imagine it so vibrantly and willfully that you are lost within your own mind and the real world is a step away. Put so much force in to it that you are actually physically exhausted. Donât be concerned about headaches, nausea, dizziness, or other physical symptoms. These are a part of witchcraft. Go outside, draw up energy from the earth, and have a meal afterwords. Then go back to that candle, hold it, and ask your imagination, âwhatâs in there?â You may be surprised at what you find.
There are other ways to sense and work with energy besides visualization. Some people have a strong talent for feeling, âknowingâ, or sensing in other ways. Witchcraft is about self-exploration, donât shoe-horn yourself in to a corner just because other people put such a heavy emphasis on visualizing.
Miscellanea: I recommend you learn how to ground, center, and borrow energy from the earth or other sources before you try this kind of work. If you have any doubts about witchcraft being ârealâ, you wonât after a shitty night full of nausea, migraines, and exhaustion brought on by over-exerting yourself without the ability to come back to reality and recharge.

âLes Nereidesâ by Gaston Bussiere
The Naiades were fresh-water Nymphs who inhabited the rivers, streams, lakes, marshes, fountains and springs of the earth. They were immortal, minor divinities who were invited to attend the assemblies of the gods on Mount Olympos. The Naiades, along with Artemis, were regarded as the divine nurses of the young, and the protectors of girls and maidens, overseeing their safe passage into adulthood. The Naiades were depicted in ancient art as beautiful, young women, either seated, standing or reclining beside their springs, and holding a hydria (water jug) or branch of lush foliage.
âWitchcraft is not neoPagan goddess worship, it is not secular weather worship, it is not tree-hugging, and it is not New Age fuckery. Witchcraft is not safe. Witchcraft is not good and kind. Witchcraft is the domain of the trickster, the outcast, the wanderer, and the crooked. It belongs to those who know every light casts a shadow; who have looked into the depths of darkness in their soul and accepted what theyâve seen along with all that is good.â Â
