Some individuals are fortunate enough to inhabit a red chest, a relic said to be their birthplace from a bygone era, which they use to store their growing stash of gold. Other Gimmighoul who are less fortunate roam the lands in search of coins and the chest they once lost. Any attempt to steal from these Pokémon results in a chilling punishment, as they drain the life-force of the would-be thief. As their hoard grows, Gimmighoul begin to fuse with their collected coins, incorporating them into their own bodies so the treasure can never be taken by force. These coins can be launched in rapid bursts, though their supply is not endless and they are quickly re-collected after the battle. When their amassed wealth reaches a thousand coins, the transformation into Gholdengo nears completion. Once they are comfortable that their treasure is secured, they become much friendlier, able to get along well with others and quick to make friends; though they keep their cherished chest close, even after they’ve outgrown it.

(Grabbengol [grab·en·gohl] is a combination of "grabbing/grab and go" and "gold/ghoul." It maintains the line's three syllables and G-start naming scheme.)

Thank you guys for the great suggestions for this line! There were a lot of clever ones, and I was particularly caught between Ghetgold (by Anonymous), Grabngeist (by @iamaperture; I felt there should be a gold/ghoul reference to match the others, and I use “geist” a lot for ghost lines so I’m trying to be more varied!), and Kleptoplasm (by @severebagelmakerpeach; I wanted to keep the G-start), and Grabbengol (grab and go + gold/ghoul) suggested by @satanbird and seconded by @nomonoke, which I'm ultimately going with. But they were all strong and I could have gone with any of them and had a great name. Thanks all!

As they mature, their psychic power intensifies and begins to manifest through their eyes, granting them the ability to immobilize foes with a piercing stare. At the same time, their bodies undergo rapid change, developing longer legs and frilled, wing-like structures. Their temperament grows harsher and more aggressive, matching their increasing strength. By the time they evolve into Espathra, they rely less on levitation and more on their powerful stride, capable of running at speeds exceeding 120 mph.

Their spores possess such potency that if left untreated, they can sprout into mushrooms wherever they settle.

It is possible that over millennia, Brute Bonnet’s spores developed toxicity, facilitating their evolution and the streamlining of their appearance, gradually losing extraneous features such as their feet and tail as their survival strategy shifted from active hunting to relying on camouflaged ambush attacks.

Another naming post! Thank you all for the name suggestions. I want to shout out “Dinomoonguss” and “Amoongussaur” by @satanbird, which I really enjoyed and almost went with (if they didn’t have codenames as names, I feel like one of those would have been perfect for Brute Bonnet’s name). Also, thank you @cellar-whales, for ‘subjecting’ me to “Brutus Rutus” which I thought was really funny :P 

Ultimately I’m going with Shroomcestor, a combination of “shroom” and “ancestor”. Thanks all!

Feeding on the electricity they find, Magnemite can produce a powerful magnetic force by rotating these side units. They are able to communicate with one another by using electromagnetic waves. As these Pokémon age and mature, they will begin to constantly on the look out for electromagnetic waves from other Magnemite that are compatible to theirs. The wavelength, energy, and frequency of their waves evolve with age, making it challenging for two Magnemite to find a suitable third partner with matching waves. Once three Magnemite link together, their combined magnetic force is so strong that it dries out all moisture in their vicinity.   [Old Version]

Magneton generate a powerful magnetic force that can disrupt or destroy mechanical devices and cause malfunctions in delicate electrical equipment. During this transition, Magnemeld’s magnetic field increases threefold, and they begin to shed unnecessary magnets that they no longer need for generating their anti-gravity. One theory suggests that Sandy Shocks is an evolutionary ancestor of modern Magneton, with intermediary stages of evolution once existing between them. Unlike its predecessor, this theoretical bridge Pokémon, dubbed Cromagneton, would have a more stable electromagnetic field, allowing it to hover without relying on its spindly limbs. These limbs may have shrunk into vestigial, magnet-like structures along its casing, increasing energy efficiency and leading to the sleek, mechanical design of modern Magneton. Its smoother metallic body suggests an adaptation to environments with less naturally occurring iron to attract. Perhaps over time, Cromagneton’s reliance on external magnetism may have decreased as it developed the ability to generate its own, ultimately leading to the tightly bound, levitating Magnemite that would later cluster into Magneton.

I’m sorry there’s no new update today as I continue my work on my upcoming Halloween update (and some external work that’s taking up my time). In the mean time, it’s time to name this guy!

Thank you all for the name suggestions; I’m going with Cromagneton (from “cromagnon”), suggested by @severebagelmakerpeach. I thought this was a clever combination, and I don’t mind repeating “-magneton,” since this line is big on repetition anyway. Thanks!

#782.5 - Jangmo-o live in groups with others of their kind in harsh, mountainous areas that are far from other Pokemon or people; they grow little by little as they battle one another. While Jangmo-o trains diligently and remains humble, it has the pride of a warrior. It employs the scale on its forehead for both attack and defense, so it never shows its back to its foe. By smacking the scales on their head, they can produce different metallic sounds that can function as both a ward to opponents and a form of communication. After many battles, once they have matured into Hakamo-o, they will leave their fellow Pokemon to begin training on their own.

#783.5 - Having left their group, Hakamo-o seek out opponents to fight. When they find a worthy adversary, they will dance and clang their scales together in a show of strength. Their sturdy scales serve as protective armor, allow them to overwhelm opponents with attacks without worrying about their own defense. This battle style causes many of their scales to be torn off or broken; however, Hakamo-o consider their broken armor and bare arms as proof of a well-fought battle and wear them with pride. Any scales Hakamo-o loses in battle will regrow harder and sharper. As they age, these Pokemon become so fearsome that just the sound of their clanging scales is enough to send weak opponents fleeing in panic.

Equipped with toughened gills and a viscous, toxin-laden coating that keeps their skin hydrated, Paldean Wooper thrive in their marshy habitats; however, as a consequence of these adaptations, they tend to be heavy and exhibit sluggish movement. To protect themselves, these Pokemon can unleash a powerful poison from their gills. Their whole skin is so hydrophobic that it is covered in a thin layer of air. They breathe that air bubble as shown, but it’s not just like holding their breath. Oxygen in the air will be replenished from the water due to the large surface area, almost like a gill. Many aquatic insects, like giant water bugs, also use oxygen diffusion similarly if they don’t have gills.
