Okay but this has been a thing I’ve seen a lot of this season and I’m actually getting to the point where it’s irritating me more than anything. The fact that WayHaught haven’t been having as much physical or sexual contact on screen does not automatically make it less gay? When the fuck did we start measuring the quality of LGBT content through how often certain characters are having sex?

Just as one example, they literally invited Jeremy and Robin to what they actually named a big gay dinner party, and these two spent time together in the homestead cooking food together and I’m sure enjoying a rare moment where they don’t feel like they are trapped in a supernatural nightmare, and instead they can enjoy something that’s domestic and peaceful and normal. It’s so rare to see any WLW couple on tv reach this kind of stage nowadays, because everybody is just obsessed with seeing them have sex on camera.

Seeing them have a healthy sexual relationship is of course important for them, but it’s also just as important to see how their relationship is maturing into something more serious. I think this season has absolutely been just as gay as season 2, it’s just not the kind everybody thinks of when they hear that something is gay. Season 1 was very rushed for them, and season 2 had a lot of scenes where they were just excited about seeing each other, which is exactly how relationships work when they are still new, but now they have something that isn’t just excitement anymore. Now it’s comfort.

They are becoming home for one another, which is something Waverly didn’t ever think would really happen for her. This naturally happens in most relationships anyways- It isn’t constant puppy love for the rest of their days. They’re showing that love is something you have actively work at and dedicate yourself to, and I think that’s far more influential to understand about relationships than just continuously putting two women having sex on camera as if that’s all their relationship is.

I think the difference between the cheerleader scene Waverly did in 2x03 and the Christmas dance she did in 3x06 are a perfect comparison between these two phases of their romance, because it was obvious that the cheerleading was something Waverly thought Nicole would find sexy, but when Waverly walked out of the closet in a Santa dress and she started singing and dancing for her, that was something else entierly. She was incredibly proud of Nicole for working hard and earning the job as sheriff, and she put herself in an incredibly vulnerable position. Do you think Waverly would have ever been confident enough to do that same dance and song in season 2? Absolutely not.

Idk. I’m sorry this was really random, this has just been really bugging me lately and I just finally had to get this all out. I get that season 3 is different than season 2, but that’s what’s supposed to happen. If they just stayed in the phase of feeling like excited teenagers whenever they were around each other they would never connect on the level that they are at right now. I’ve seen a lot of complaints lately about how this season hasn’t been as fun to watch because we haven’t seen a lot of sex scenes and they aren’t really making out on screen anymore, but like… Is that really the only reason some of you guys ship WayHaught? Are you really only here because it’s hot when they get physical on camera? And are you seriously only measuring their worth to you by how often you get to see physical intimacy?

Is no one going to point out that Nicole Haught technically won the drinking game in 3x07. Wynonna didn’t win since she technically cheated, and the revenant didn’t win since he puked. Nicole won and downed half her body weight in liquor. I stand a legend.
