Hey guys, I’ve been meaning to address this for a while now, but people don’t understand how awful and triggering thanksgiving for people who identify as Turkey-kin, like me. It’s just that every year we glorify and turn it into a tradition to cut up and eat a bird!! But, what if, inside I AM that bird? Or what about the THOUSANDS of others who identify as birds? 1. Otherkin is NOT a “fad” or a “phase.” It is as valid of an identity as gay, transgender, or transrace and you need to accept that.

2. Just because people have been doing it for years does not make it okay! People have been doing a lot of awful things for a really long time but that does not validate any of it! 

3. It IS cultural appropriation because you are taking something that helps us better identify with our otherkin and are trivializing it to a mere fashion statement. Wolf is my culture. Wolf is who I am. Please respect that.

Hey, potatokin here, sometimes I feel like people are belittling my kintype when they take pictures and they're like "ugh I look like a potato" it's like no, potatoes are gorgeous, you look ugly. Anyone else come across potato appropriation?
