milo-karat:
Milo was stunned to hear himself called ignorant, especially since he didn’t think he’d done or said anything that was shocking or out of place. “I am from the Capitol, yes,” he stated, saying the first few words slowly as he tried to gather his thoughts to best defend himself. “I’ve actually read a lot, especially about the Games and different tributes and victors from over the years. A fair amount of victors, either from outer districts or who knew other tributes from outer districts well, have made claims that education was so inadequate in some parts that they didn’t know how to write or read properly. Or the education was adequate, but they were required to leave school to take on a job very early.”
Sator stared at the male, trying to comprehend what this man was saying. “Again, mate, you are right that education isnt the best. And that we get pulled from school early. But how old did you learn how to read and write? Ten?” Sator asked him shocked. “You learn how to write when you first enter school and let me help educate you for a moment.” He said placing a hand on the male’s shoulder. “We dont get pulled out of school when we are six.” He spoke very slow for him, as if he needed some help to understand. “Listen here, Capitol boy. You may believer that me calling you ignorant is wrong but trust me, you’re very ignorant and you may want to be careful what you say to the other tributes. Why? Because you are gonna get this huge target on your back and you’re not gonna know what to do in the arena.” He knew that he sounded rude but he was really trying to protect and help him out. “Also, stop assuming stuff. That’ll get you into loads of trouble.”
