The love that Clark holds for humanity and Earth extends to you, the way he always looks at you with such wonder in his eyes. He knows why his parents sent him to Earth, but god, he could never. He is simply filled with joy and love when you enter his mind.

He won't be lovey-dovey with you, trying to keep you as safe as possible, but honestly, the citizens of Metropolis have noticed how much he seems to stop to talk to you.
Always a little upset when he ends up dog-sitting Krypto, who seems to like you more than he has ever liked Clark. Luckily, Krypto liking you means Kara's acceptance of you, which makes Clark over the moon.

Has the best control out of all the boys. Definitely the one who is able to be in close proximity with you the entire time, soothing you.

Blood bags are his safe haven right now. The scent of your blood, the fact that it's so close yet so far? He is drinking down blood bags more than usual.
Still doting on you, tending to you. Lots of home-cooking even if he sucks at it and you guys end up getting take-out anyways, lots of hugs and kisses and cuddles. A little bit of suffering for his instincts is okay if it makes you happier during this shitty thing.
Def tracks you period in a calendar. He is somebody who likes to be prepared for everything. Writes down in a physical calendar when it starts, when it ends, everything. Last thing he wants is to be unprepared and pounce on you when he smells your blood.
Yes, he can smell it before it starts. He will NEVER tell you that. If it comes early? He is telling you the day before that he restocked the pads and tampons. If you ask or make a joke about him being the oracle of your period when it's early, he is pointing to the tracking calendar and calling it a lucky guess.

Well, he is a little bummed, honestly. He doesn't like to feed off you when you are on your period, so he is stuck to the blood bags.
Taking you out on drives around town so you can get some fresh air without the entire walking thing. Gripping the HELL out of the steering wheel and gear shift because the wind keeps bringing the scent of your blood to his nose and he WANTS to gobble you up.

Honestly, it's just a mix of what I like and don't like about vampires in mainstream media LMAO. It is also a various mixed bag of stuff I like from various vampire medias across the board.
Garlic, sunlight, all of that, doesn't affect vampires. Vampires are not "dead" in this AU. They are very much alive, but experience a biological immortality that they need blood to sustain. Their bodies do not circulate their own blood, and their body actively goes and attacks red blood cells. They die without feeding since their body kills off the blood.
You can be changed, or in extremely rare cases, be born. In most cases, you can only be a born-vampire if both parents are also vampires, but the chances are so low that this is unknown how true this is.
I've insinuated in a previous ask that yes, a human and vampire can have a child together, but it has never really happened before. If it has, then it was kept secret from the vampire society. This is the origin of dhampirs.
The process of changing is only difficult because it can so easily go wrong. The vampire needs to basically drain out the person they are trying to change, before flooding them with vampire toxins that is stored in their fangs. The toxins do not always take, and sometimes will kill the body during the process.
Vampires are typically solitary creatures. They have their own hunting grounds, usually staying to metro areas. However, vampires CAN share hunting grounds and be more social with others. That's the case for Colt and Ryland. Driver is more of a solitary vampire, more territorial.
When solitary vampires go into others hunting grounds, it becomes a mess to fight for dominance over the area. Expect a uptick in deaths as the two both feed, until one leaves and admit defeat over the area.
There is a bit of a hierarchy system in place, with born vampires at the very top, and thralls at the bottom. Born Vampires -> Changed Vampires -> Dhampirs -> Thrall -> Humans.
You don't typically see thrall anymore, and it's basically used as a term to call a human who is involved in the vampire society, usually somebody who actively wants to be fed off of. The only times you see actual thrall is with centuries old solitary vampires who do not live in the metro area. Think like Dracula-old vampires.
The process with Thrall is more mental than physical, requiring a ritual process to bind the thrall to the vampire. It's too much effort to be bothered with.
Modern vampires literally just call humans who are in on the vampire thing thrall and call it a day. It's really not a thing anymore.

It's not as bloody as you would think. Colt is mainly going to be feeding off your emotions, and serving as the anchor to you, holding you from behind in his lap, while Ryland is crooked in your neck and lapping at the blood.
Maybe every once in a while, Colt's head will dip down, and maybe he will take some blood, but it's not what he is mainly feeding off of.

Once the world starts to spin some, Colt is immediately leaving, and patting at Ryland as a signal to stop. Ryland's chin and scruff has your blood in it, but he is ignoring the mess on his face as he scrambles to go and grab bandages from the nearby med-kit he had prepared.
