Even if i don’t ship Nor and Sweden, i’m really intrigued by the nature of their relationship during that time period ( and especially when their kingdoms were unified) I’ve seen you mention it briefly and i’m curious to hear more of your thoughts on this

I do see it as a marriage of obligation during Treaty of Kiel era.

But what makes it more interesting to me is that Berwald has 100% fantasized about having Norway for himself, and has had romantic feelings for him before. But when Denmark finally hands Norway over, Berwald thinks he should feel happy. It’s another dig in Denmark’s already open wound, and he finally has Norway under his rule. He’s pined for him for so long, too!

So, again, shouldn’t he be happier? Satisfied? Well, he is not, because he is missing someone else most ardently.

It’s complicated and messy, but because it’s Lukas and Berwald, two very quiet men, you’d think nothing’s wrong.

He & Berwald will consummate their new marriage lovelessly and passionlessly. Berwald will be gazing down at Lukas’ beauty, trying to conjure that desire, lust, and power he felt before. Lukas just wants to be free. It is quite miserable for the both of them.
