I made this a while back and kept forgetting to post this but here she is! In history Oichi was Nobunaga’s younger sister, so I thought that it would be interesting to make a character based off of her :3 I tried to make her design a huge contrast from Nobunaga’s manly daimyo one, so here she is, in her pink and purple glory xD I hope y’all like it! 🤗
Birthday: June 29 (historical birthday unknown)
Significant Relationships: Nobunaga Oda (older brother)
Personality: Shy but very kind, Oichi is pretty much the polar opposite of Nobunaga. She is very well known for not only being his younger sister, but also for her beauty, innocence, and intelligent personality. However, despite that, she tends to allow people to walk over her by often putting their wants and needs before her own. Two of these people are Nobunaga and her husband, Nagamasa Azai (even if he doesn’t realize that she tends to do that). However, despite caring for her brother, she has conflicted feelings because her husband and his entire army work in the shadows against Nobunaga with a plan to end his life. Because of how much she cares for both her brother and Nagamasa, she has conflicted feelings about both of them, and often helps her husband strategize while sending letters to and visiting her brother without her husband knowing. She is burdened with severe self hatred and lack of faith in herself, believing herself to be a traitor to both men for helping both of them.
Backstory: Growing up as Nobunaga’s younger sister meant that she was often overshadowed by him. It was because of this that she developed her quiet personality, often devoting her attention towards studies, and unfaltering obedience towards him. However, despite being seen as the stronger sibling, Nobunaga cared deeply for her and still does to this day. But despite that he never hesitates to demand things from her, and she often obliges. One of those things was her marriage which Nobunaga had arranged to establish a political alliance with the Azai clan.
Relationship with Azuchi Warlords + Nagamasa Azai:
Nobunaga: He and Oichi are both described as inseparable siblings by the other warlords, and it is mostly true. They clearly care for eachother because of how frequently they send letters and visit eachother. Nobunaga is very fond of his younger sister and usually brags about her intelligence to his fellow warlords. However, Nobunaga is completely unaware of Oichi’s harbored guilt of betrayal by the Azai.
Hideyoshi: He and Oichi have a very close relationship ((Historically Oichi disliked him, but I decided to change that xD)). Despite knowing that she has a husband, he does have rather major, yet secret, feelings for her, and the only person who is aware of this is Nobunaga. Hideyoshi often looks forward to her visits but because of how he feels for her, he is too shy to have a full conversation with her. She finds him incredibly charming but is unaware of how he feels about her, mistaking it as mere shyness.
Masamune: He finds her intriguing; despite being Nobunaga Oda’s younger sister, both of them are so different from eachother. Masamune likes to ask her about her childhood with Nobunaga sometimes, and she thinks his fearless personality is charming. Because of this they have a rather close friendship.
Mitsunari: Since both of them are extremely kind people with hearts of gold, they seemed to gravitate towards eachother the moment they met and developed a best friendship like no other. Being bookworms, they love talking about books they like and geek out about them, much to the others’ amusement (and Ieyasu’s slight relief because Mitsunari won’t bug him as much anymore).
Ieyasu: He tends to act rather aloof around her, but he secretly has a soft spot for her innocent and shy personality. Knowing how gentle she is (and also the fact that she’s Nobunaga’s younger sister), he treats her a tad kinder than the others. Because of how close she is with Mitsunari, she is definitely aware of his fondness towards Ieyasu, and her opinion of him is highly influenced by that. She views Ieyasu as a very intelligent person with a good heart, even if she hasn’t talked to him much.
Mitsuhide: Because of how innocent Oichi is, he tries to refrain from teasing her with every fiber of his being (also because Nobunaga would most likely get mad at him). So as a result he comes of as extremely polite, but sometimes does play harmless pranks on her. Oichi sees him as an intelligent and kind person, and thinks his harmless pranks are fun. Though she has witnessed him not no harmlessly prank others and is grateful that he’s merciful towards her.
Ranmaru: The two of them have a mother and son relationship where they both care for eachother very much. Whenever she would visit Ranmaru loves to rest his head on her lap while she tells him stories. Oichi thinks that Ranmaru is an adorable and kind hearted person and enjoys spending time with him.
Nagamasa: As her husband, he is very protective of her, going as far as to accompany her every time she wants to go out. She is very grateful to him for that, but often allows his needs to overpower hers, without him being aware. He is also unaware of her feelings of self hatred for betraying the Azai by still being close with her brother. However, despite that, their relationship is very strong, and he would gladly take a bullet for her if ever needed.
