im a big openutauhead over original utau despite starting with the og because the locale switching situation has actually broken a lot of installs of other software/operating systems i use before (probably not an issue for the average person but I'm Special And Talented) and also the open sourceness of OU is a huge benefit (rips off shirt revealing chest tattoo that says I <3 FOSS) BUT. i will say. sometimes my openutau install will break in a way that i just dont know. i just dont know....

(its okay tho im on the beta branch and its foss <3 <3 <3 <3 FOSS FOREVERRRR)

vndb is so useful when looking for niche and specific untranslated visual novels and all that but sometimes the tag system aggressively reminds me it was made with basically only bxg erotic galge in mind

#sometimes it'll throw a 'reverse rape' tag at me and its like thats not. um. well. uh.#terminology is different nowadays. coughs.#but even with the wording of 'hero' and 'heroine' for male and female characters #its an issue some old school romance novel scenes end up with too. the hero/heroine terminology gets messy with like #same sex relationships nonbinary characters etc etc #vndb's hero/heroine tagging system gets Very Difficult To Decipher when u get to otome bl and yuri games #it is what it is. the website has been around for a trillion years and its tagging system while flawed is still all we got rn when like #looking up random 2000s untranslated playstation games or whatever LOL #at least sometimes people use the 'protagonist' tags which helps clear some stuff up combined with relationship tags <3

experimenting with using Ruko's ♂ and ♀ voicebanks at the same time with OU voice colours! it was kinda a nightmare to set it up LOL

#I kept fucking up the suffixes by accident and having to re add the old otos LOL #I've only ever done this (integrating voicebanks) with momo before so i wasnt prepared for the multipitchness of it all #it sounds kinda cool tho! it's a little tricky cause some of ruko♀️vcv's banks have like #looser pronunciation and different otoing than others #and those looser ones (mostly shout and original) didn't like to play nice with the timing #of the ♂️ banks and some of the ♀️appends #but it's fun! I might see if I can combine rukos cv banks together too....hmmm #I particularly like fading the two different whispers together it sounds so interesting #it'd be cool to see a voicebank with multiple voice providers per voice colour like built in #there is an utau with different vps per syllable iirc #and there's other utau outside of ruko who do the multi voice provider for different appends thing #but having it built from the ground up for switching between voices like expressions could be kinda cool I think ....#edit: also please excuse whatever's going on with this test LOL I half tuned it a million years ago #for a different voicebank so that's why it stops being tuned halfway through the chorus AHHDHDJSHF #also just kinda put whatever expressions wherever to show off the switching ❤️#I ❤️ posting unmixed half tuned plug n plays forever ‼️‼️‼️‼️#edit2: WAAAAIT the issues with the fem banks otos where actually me fucking up when copying stuff over RIP #well i got it working proper style now abshfdkjhjkfds
