i really can imagine a time in the future when humanity masters the science of immortality & a select few curse themselves to a future of being Gods, each other Immortal is a threat to them bc they know the secrets & weaknesses but in their expansive existence every single human being’s lifetime seems like a single second so the Immortals don’t get emotionally attached to the human being while to the human being, the Immortal is the entirety of their lifetime. and then as time goes on, the Immortal goes from God to Demon as they lose touch with the empathy and understanding that made them once human but now curses them to a tyrannical reign of isolation & abuse of power. but what are the consequences for abusing power when you live longer than those who would punish you? when the punishment is the blink of an eye? then the Immortals decide to Frankenstein’s Bride their way into love by creating new Immortals who they want to grow with but the new Immortals need to go thru the processes they went thru & they’ve just created new threats. eventually, they forget how to create new immortals & how to be people & how to be gods and demons & that’s when they have to learn how to die
