atelier saga: is it good?

this is not a review this is a cry for help hello guys, i love jrpg as u know. i keep seeing the atelier games but i wonder if theyre worth it? i dont mind a light story, but are the characters or mechanics fun? for reference i love stardew valley and jrpgs and i enjoy cozy stuff, but character driven games just make me very happy

im back with my rpg 2025 with absolute peak: Final Fantasy Tactics (the original)

short ramble incoming: i decided to emulate it on pc because im upset with the decisions for the remake. the apparent content cuts, the fact they had to remake it from scratch due to lost code and the decision to not translate into spanish (im spanish) + the game being too expensive for these decisions, ultimately irritated me and i decided to play the original. the original had not been translated either so it upset me that, now that square has the chance, they decided not to do it (and i can imagine why they didn't, ai related stuff). so here i go! fft original here i come!

an hiatus from bof 4 to play... clair obscur expedition 33!

i didnt want to liveblog this one since its a fairly recent release and i dont wanna spoil, but i am close to the ending and wow... what a game, honestly. there is so much love pouring from every corner of the game, so many details and how everything counts. every single lil' thing is important and just makes sense. on some more technical note, i really want to point out that its so damn well optimized, my pc does not meet (supposedly) the recommended requirements and i could still play it with no problems at all, flawlessly smooth and looking almost the same as with high graphics while playing on medium. its just that good.

and then the story and world are just so unique. its so charming and wondrous, the art direction on this one is amazing. and considering it was made with unreal: thank you for actually looking different, bc i am getting tired of repetitive unreal with the same realistic asset library in so many games.

the combat is incredible and what makes me like it especially is that each character has their own specific mechanic. and none are useless or unbalanced, you truly can play with any character and theyll be incredible

i dont think i have any bad things to say about this game besides maybe how the romance was unnecessary in this story with these characters (and how i accidentally got into it whoops)

excited to finish it and play the soundtrack on REPEAT for the rest of the summer. now this is MY music of the summer y'all
