What are the buttons and characters are connected to them, because I like the idea that Papyrus is connected to the ACT button, but that could just be a head Cannon we have not known of any other buttons except for Mercy, Overwrite, Fight and Save.
So do you have any other characters planned?
CODEBOUND is an Undertale Alternate Universe where the player can no longer access or play their game file.
During a True Pacifist Timeline, the player’s character had just reached the surface when the game suddenly crashed. Instead of repairing or restarting it, the player simply shut off the monitor and never returned. With no reset or recovery, the crash grew worse over time, mixing together files—from game loops to character data.
Because the shutdown was so abrupt, the game was still running as it broke apart, and the characters experienced the 'Meltdown' as it happened.
Frisk was the first to snap free from the player’s control, confused but relieved that the run had ended peacefully—until the world around them began to distort.
Panicking, Frisk attempted a Reset without noticing the corrupted button. Pressing it tore open the boundary between character files and core code, causing everything to merge together.
Now, they oversee the Multiverse Buttons and are responsible for managing them.
FRISK – RESET = An empty hourglass symbol resting beneath the left eye.
CHARA – TRUE RESET = A filled hourglass marking placed under the right eye.
ASRIEL – LOAD = Circular disc patterns lining the outer edges of their eyes.
FLOWEY – DELETE = Simple X-shaped symbols replacing both eyes.
TORIEL – MERCY = Gentle spiral patterns curling outward from the corners of her eyes.
SANS – SAVE = A North Star marking shining in his left eye, with a matching star beneath it.
PAPYRUS – ACT = A single star-shaped symbol centered between his eyes.
UNDYNE – FIGHT = A bold spear-shaped marking stretching across both eyes.
ALPHYS – ITEM = A small mechanical cog placed right between her eyes.
METTATON – STAT = A thin rectangular wire-mark running through their hair, glowing like a status bar.
ASGORE – CONTINUE = A jagged, glitch-like crown hovering above his head, flickering sharply.
GRILLBY – CONFIG = A gear-shaped marking positioned over the front of his fire-mask.
MUFFET – CELL = Web-like circuit lines branching out near her eyes.
Their font names are used to distinguish them from other AUs, though among themselves, they still call each other by their real names.
FRISK – RESET = “Rebirth Regular” = Rebirth!Frisk
CHARA – TRUE RESET = “Determination Mono” = Mono!Chara
ASRIEL – LOAD = “Single Memory” = Memory!Asriel
FLOWEY – DELETE = “Null” = Null!Flowey
TORIEL – MERCY = “Kindred Script” = Kind!Toriel
ASGORE – CONTINUE? = “Trajan Pro” = Pro!Asgore
PAPYRUS – ACT = “Tempus Serif” = Tempus!Papyrus
METTATON – STAT = “Neon Tubes 2” = Neon!Mettaton
UNDYNE – FIGHT = “Impact Label” = Impact!Undyne
ALPHYS – ITEM = “Pixel Emulator” = Pixel!Alphys
GRILLBY – CONFIG = “OCR A Extended” = Extend!Grillby
MUFFET – CELL = “Dot Matrix” = Matrix!Muffet
SANS – SAVE = “Code Saver” = Saver!Sans
Each one watches over a separate area, as not all of them can coexist with each other.
Undyne (FIGHT) = Oversees Genocide Timelines
Toriel (MERCY) = Watches over Pacifist Timelines
Papyrus (ACT) = Monitors Neutral Timelines
Alphys (ITEM) = Assists with Neutral Timelines
Frisk (RESET) = Restarts the timeline from the beginning
Chara (TRUE RESET) = Wipes all progress, memories, and outcomes
Sans (SAVE) = Stores the timeline’s current state
Asriel (LOAD) = Returns everything to the last SAVE
Alphys (ITEM) = Keeps track of items from all timelines
Mettaton (STAT) = Monitors LV, HP, ATK, DEF, Gold, and EXP so nothing overloads
Grillby (CONFIG) = Helps adjust side settings for the player
Muffet (CELL) = Manages call functions and communication lines
Asgore (CONTINUE?) = Gives the player another chance to move forward
Flowey (DELETE) = Clears the player’s memory of a timeline
Gaster (???) = hes jst there, dont mind him
Many of them were altered or broken during the fusion. Since all code couldn’t exist in one space at once, some parts had to be removed for new ones to settle. This left several characters struggling with fragments of missing identity (or identity crisis for short).
PS. HOW DID YOU GUESS PAPYRUS WHAT
