Captain Annie here!
Rising from the grave - of sorts; one of my lovely old friends sent me a tweet this morning, see for yourselves:
I’m gonna post the link to the article separately in a minute so everyone can reblog accordingly.
There’s mention of an Amazon / Netflix pitch by Abi Morgan - what to you think about switching into gear again? :)
A tiny bit of news, but it might be something:
RadioTimes has put together a nice article about several cancelled series, which includes our beloved show too. The article explains the premise of every programme, plus lists the social media platforms that are engaged/used in the issue. Surprise: our very own Tumblr account is listed too!
The best part is that you can vote for the show you would like to be back on air. Probably it’s just for curiosity, but we should all show that our hearts are still aching because of the tragic fate of The Hour, even after almost 2 years of its cancellation, in the form of a little vote!
The article and the poll can be found here.
May The Hour never be forgotten.

Should we write to the BBC that we passed 25,000 signatures? That's a pretty big step... Maybe you could ask people to do it, so that there'll be more messages?
Ahhh this is an awesome milestone! I've gotten a few messages about it from you guys I see! I'm so glad to see the petition still gaining signatures, and I'm so glad we made it before the end of the year. I think that tweeting it as we've done in the past would be a great way to get the word out there. IDK if the BBC will take notice, but it's worth a shot!
I'd say definitely that the more tweets there are the better chance of people seeing it. It would probably be best to tweet whatever BBC accounts they can find. BBCEntTeam has been a good one I think (as BBC Two's have been inactive in the past), and also our go-to's like Radio Times, Digital Spy, the Guardian, and other news outlets that have featured us in the past would be a good idea. Kudos_TV is also a great one (even though they can't make decisions, it would still show them we haven't forgotten the show!) Also, if people ever feel more like writing a letter, the address on our previous initiatives is still good. ;)
Whatever the thoughts of the BBC at this stage, I still think it's worth letting them see that nine months later we're still gaining support!
this is really great!! i already told a couple of people who don't even watch the hour to sign up. well, bless them :D one question: what exactly are you going to do once you pass 25,000 signatures? what are your next steps? or do you just hope that the bbc will eventually become aware of their mistake. anyway, do you think the actors are still up for s3 / have time to do it? (if a miracle happens and the bbc pick it up again). :s
Well, Alice is the one in charge of the petition, but if/when it hits 25,000 signatures it will simply jump up to the next goal (probably 30,000). The BBC has been made aware of the petition a while back by Alice (and it has been in the news a few times). If it does reach our next goal, it couldn't hurt to let them know about it again! Currently the only way we get in touch with them is through the contacts they give on the BBC website and through Twitter. Getting the word out on Twitter to news outlets, the BBC, and such is also a great way to make the media/BBC more aware of every milestone.
As for the actors, I imagine at this stage they would all still be up for it, should it fit into their schedules. If they were to pick up anything I would think it would be a special at this juncture though. :)
Abi Morgan's victory was a lovely surprise. I am so glad to see her amazing work has been recognised, this means a lot to us guys, and even if we don't get the third series, our outstanding writer got her so deserved Emmy. The show may have been cancelled but they will not forget The Hour!
Absolutely! I'm so proud of what this show and campaign has achieved. IDK if they'll ever give us a second chance (sighs), but it is a sure thing that the fans are amazing, we have fought long and hard for this programme, and every award for this show is more than well-deserved. I'm still so happy for Abi and it's two days later! - Ash
Abi Morgan wins Outstanding Writer for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special for The Hour at the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards
CONGRATULATIONS ABI!! I am ecstatic right now! Well deserved for what is indeed an outstanding piece of television in all aspects. Over seven months ago the BBC decided to cancel this exquisite show prematurely, and yet it is still having an impact. This is yet more proof of its quality and its power. 24,000 signatures and an Emmy win in one week!
Let's hope as well that the win will encourage many more to check out just what this "The Hour" show is about since it's award-winning and all that! ;)
We just passed 24,000 signatures! :D

This is amazing! I'd love to see it reach 25,000.
Did I ever tell you about how much my nephew loves having his picture taken with my Save The Hour sign? Seriously, every time he comes over he gets it out of my room and starts asking for pictures.
So have a collection of my favourites.
This is so adorable!
The petition to #savethehour has passed 23,000 signatures! Thank you, Peter Capaldi ;)

Thank you, Mr. Capaldi, indeed! This is amazing. I hope we can get to 25,000 soon.
I can't pretend this doesn't affect us. This is a huge opportunity for the show to get more fans and for the campaign to get more supporters and.... who knows?! :)
Firstly, I’M STILL SO PROUD OF PETER. I agree! One of the first things I thought of was how this role has the potential to bring huge numbers of new people to the show and that is so exciting. I’m already seeing people who have never seen The Hour asking for links to masterposts and such, and it warms my heart. I think more than anything it can only been seen as a great thing for us. If new fans support it, in addition to seeing how it was ended far too soon, it can mean very positive things! Maybe a new crop of fans would further support bringing it back to finish it properly. - Ash
The Hour cast congratulating Peter Capaldi on his new role as The Doctor.
I would like another mass mailing date, btw :)
Well we can arrange that! :) I guess I have to talk with Ash now that the big news is out, and I'm so sorry for leaving you for all this time but this is HUGE news for our fandom too. - Annie
Do you think there's really a chance we can get them to bring back The Hour? I really hope so!!
Hi there!
Thi is a big day for #savethehour and The Hour as well I think because this gives us the chance that a really huge amount of people will get into the show just because he's received the part. So the worst case scenario is that The Hour fandom's going to grow. But I think there's much more to come. :') - Annie
Are we still sending postcards to the BBC? There are some of Newcastle that I'd like to send. If we are, is there a particular day to send them, or can we do it any day?
Absolutely! Any time you would like to send postcards, please do. At the moment we don’t have a date set up for a “mass mailing", but I would be glad to do so if you all think it might be beneficial to have another one? :) - Ash
Anna Chancellor talks to Bernie Keith about The Hour, Pride and Prejudice and Private Lives on BBC Radio Northampton 11 July 2013
(This is the radio interview in which Anna Chancellor discusses the #savethehour flash mob).
Excellent! Thanks for this. I will forever love this woman for stopping by the #SaveTheHour flash mob.
