Sitting up and scratching at his head, he looked to the clock and seeing that it was still early, he rolled over and fell back asleep. He wasn’t much of a morning person, besides Gon’s fieldtrip to the museum could wait until the place actually opened.

 |☂| He had been fully prepared to die, having said his goodbyes years ago. He was going to do it, he really was! Nothing was going to stop him! …except maybe the strange white haired boy that decided to ruin his built up nerve.

   Head still through the noose, Itoshiki figured there would be no harm in taking a few seconds to explain things a little. “Of course this isn’t an act! I’m in despair, now let me die-“

   Perhaps he had gotten a little too excited as the briefcase he was standing on gave way at that point, not even letting him finish his sentence. Struggling with great difficulty, not at all like someone who had been ready to throw their life away, the teacher managed to somehow free himself from the not-so-tightly-tied rope and fell to the ground gasping for breath.

   “WHAT IF I HAD DIED?!” He yelled, rubbing his neck and staring up at the other male as if accusing him of the whole thing.

Hope vs Despair {Closed ;; Komaeda}

|☂| It had started off as any other day; the sun was shining, birds chirping, hope-filled kids frolicking in flower fields –and then there was Nozomu Itoshiki.

   Going through a normal day of school, teaching students about proper grammar and how to write perfect suicide essays full of explanations about the despair of the world– how he still had his job was a mystery –the man ended his last class of the day on a typically negative note. Feeling satisfied with his day, he had grabbed his umbrella to leave until one of his students told him the chance of rain had only been a mere two percent. This prompted the teacher to look around the classroom, seeing all of his students umbrella-less. The feelings of despair began to well up as Itoshiki ran out of the classroom as well as the school building, and seeing that no one else walking around had an umbrella either he let the feelings of hopelessness take over.

   “ZETSUBOUSHITA!! The inaccuracy of weather forecasts has left me in despair!” He shouted to the skies before running to the nearest park. Reaching a fairly high enough branch on a tree, Itoshiki dropped his umbrella and opened the briefcase he carried with him everywhere to pull out some rope. “I’ve embarrassed myself beyond repair by being fooled so easily. My students won’t respect me anymore. I should just die.” He spoke calmly to himself as he tied the rope into a noose and proceeded to hook it onto the tree.

   Pulling one of the many wills he had prepared beforehand out of the case, he tucked it into his hakama and closed the briefcase in order to use it as a stepping stool. “Goodbye.” He said, grabbing onto the rope and pulling his head through.
