This is such a Dick Grayson vibe though*. Iâm pretty sure Iâve read somewhere that itâs really just âa batkidâ vibe. But the Dick I write feels this so much. In another hc I wrote about how he has trouble differentiating between Robin/Nightwing and Dick, and how he feels more like his super-persona is his true self than the man that is Dick Grayson.Â
And itâs an interesting comparison to Jason who fully hands down rejects Jason Todd in favor of Robin**. Both boys see Robin as something more valuable than themselves, they see more advantage and more worth being a figure, an image, a legacy, than an actual person. And theyâre completely fine with that. They actively choose it. Jason in this instance is more aggressive about it, but the fact is that both boys would rather be Robin or Nightwing than the person they were born as.Â
Another interesting comparison is the fear of losing Robin. Both boys fear having this taken away from them and both have the vibe of either âwho am i without the suitâ to âi hate who i am without the suitâ and itâs sad to me that this idealistic figure is literally their whole world, their whole identity, to the point of fear, anxiety, and panic at the thought of just... being people.Â
