She leaned into the touch of his hand, just letting herself feel and accept things she’d only accept behind the privacy of one of their homes. She needed this, she needed him. Her heart needed this to heal after the worry and stress it had been through She was finally at peace and her body was slowly starting to feel it all.
How long had it been since she had last let herself rest properly? Since she ate? She wasn’t sure but when she took his hand to help herself up, she couldn’t keep herself up, and she tumbled forward onto him. Too long was the answer she was looking for. She felt so exhausted, her hands were trembling as she held onto him and tried to lift herself up. She couldn’t just rely on Tamaki, he was still healing after all wasn’t he? He had to be after what he had been through.
“Yeah…Just give me a bit I think my feet fell asleep.” She mumbled softly, lying to him. She didn’t want to worry him more than she already had with her kidnapping. Her mind slowly trying to finally process everything as she glanced up at him. How….how was he ok?
The feeling of her hand in his was so foreign yet so comforting. Too long-- it had been too long, and Tamaki could spend all day focusing on every little detail of her hand and the way her fingers curled against him and the lines on her palm that may or may not explain her past and present and future. But the dream was short as she seemed to lose her balance.
One arm caught Haruhi under her elbow, trying his best to hold her up and offer her the support she probably needed, while the other instinctively wrapped around her waist and held her close. Just from looking at her, he should have known that she was weak and probably still recovering. The announcement of her rescue from The Killing Joke had just happened. It made sense that she’d topple forward like this. Haruhi hadn’t had enough time to recover? Who knew what strains she had already been through.
“I-- let me help.” Tamaki wasn’t sure what she needed or when she needed it, but he was still adamant that she needed her rest. Carefully, his other arm trailed downward and placed itself so he could pick her up princess style. He smiled at her as he walked towards her hospital bed and placed her down. “This is.... a little faster than waiting for your feet to regain feeling, isn’t it?”
