After seeing the previous idents that ITV have created, they all include sound and Charlie Levine herself has stated that its just as important as the ident itself. Furthermore, I used a royalty free Jazz sound track that I got from YouTube because after watching some recordings of the old teletext I noticed they used to a lot of jazz music while it would play.

I didn’t want to use the standered sound that I had, so I used Adobe Audition, a software I haven’t used before to remix and distort the original sound. I also, did this because my animation was distorted as well so I thought it would be better if the sound was distorted, to match the visuals.

It was fun experimenting with Adobe Audition because I wasn’t really sure on how to use it but I am pleased with how the sound turned out and it matched the visuals as well.

I made these distorted animations in Adobe After Effects just to experiment and see how they would turn out. I like how they turned out, I learnt to create these from a tutorial, making these showed me how I can further develop my idea.

Second version

I tried using a software called Touchdesigner, which is a software that uses coding and combining different outputs and inputs to create images or animations.

This program was quite difficult to get my head around because I have never used/ wrote code before but I wanted to challenge myself for this brief by trying out something I have never tried before.

For my first try on a software that I’m not familiar with, I am pleased with how my motion tuned out.

This is an animation I made using After Effects, it is a simple animation but I think it works for the pixelated concept I had.

I chose to have the ITV type logo in red, green and blue because those are the colours that combine to make up images on a TV screen, also I decided to spread out the sections in the logo because I felt that it looked better spaced out.
