In his whole life, Alec never thought he’d be living in the suburbs, let alone in Ohio of all places. He always imagined himself somewhere fast paced and fun, a reason why he thrived so well in New York City. But his life was just moving way too fast; at one point he was unsure about anything in his life– his career, his feelings, his relationship. It got to the point where he could only think of the one thing that would get his brain to stop overthinking; he ran. He broke up with his girlfriend, he left the show, and ran. He ran to Italy, of all places, but it was a place that no one would find him at. Of course, he kept in contact with some of his cast mates and friends, ones that would probably hunt him down if he fell off the face of the earth all the way.
While Italy was great, he had missed the closeness he had with his friends. He missed being able to call them up at any given time to just talk or hang out or grab food. He had called up Jo to let him know he was coming back, only to find out not everyone was in the city anymore. He had half a mind to just go back, but when he heard that nearly everyone he cared for was in Ohio now, he made the rash decision to pick up and move there.
Weeks after the decision he found himself in Target, realizing that living off of mac and cheese and ramen was not ideal; he wasn’t a broke college student anymore, he could actually afford to fill his fridge. As he made his way in to the store he shoved his sunglasses to the top of his head, grabbing a cart and making his way around the store, unsure of where to head exactly. He was about to look for someone who worked there, when the person across from him caught his eye.
He knew exactly who it was. The person he had been avoiding for a year now, the person who had run away from. His ex-girlfriend, standing in front of him a few feet away. Alec went to raise his hand in a wave when she turned away, a frown coming to his face. Though they had broken up, he had figured they had parted on decent enough terms, but as he grabbed the cart once again, he wasn’t too sure about that.
She saw just as she started to turn away, him wave at her. that just made her heart skip several beats. it felt like the first time they met again. her heart racing and she felt like they where back when they first were in Hamilton - and all the feelings. She turned the corner out of his sight just for a second taking a deep breath. the break up came back to her, and yeah they said they’d stay friends but then he fell off the face off the earth, she just didn’t know anymore. She pinched the side of her arm, feeling the pinch “clearly this isn’t a dream” she muttered to herself.
letting out a sigh she walked down and kept alert to see if he had moved from the spot she first saw him in. Everything was racing in her head what to say when she really did spot him again, but when she turned down the aisle she had last saw him in, her cart instantly hit into his. Quickly looking up she couldn’t help but smile, a genuine happy smile. “Hey Alec.” She said softly, the smile refusing to leave her face.
