i’ve been counting down the days for this but yet it still feels so surreal, it felt like it would never come and when it did it flew by in a blur of smiles and tears. to all of our friends and family, we can’t thank you enough for celebrating today with us, for supporting us both through this entire process and every bump along the way. and to the man i finally get to call my husband, i can’t wait for forever baby.

With a grin Alec wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to him. “I’ve stopped questioning her actions a long time ago.” He muttered, not wanting to talk about his ex in that moment. Or any moment, it still being a sore subject for him. Placing a kiss to her shoulder he glanced at the new picture, another laugh escaping him. “Probably Marco. He was always taking the pictures. We were having fun.”

vivian leaned further into him, her hand moving to rest on his thigh at his next words, rubbing against his skin softly. “yeah, me too baby boy.” she mumbled gently, the smile returning to her face at his laugh, scooting herself further into him, her legs moving to rest in his lap. “oh that’s true, he and i probably have a million between the two of us. we really were, that was a very popular window from what i remember, i have pictures of marc there, and even jo made an appearance once or twice.”

For the past few days Alec was reminded why he was so glad to come back to the states. He had thought that he needed to be far away, to be in Italy to get his mind together, but the longer he was away the longer he missed everyone. And when he came back, that was only proven right when he met up with his old cast mates again. Especially Vivian. It was odd, at first, dating someone you’ve worked with and basically considered family. But it worked. 

His ears perked up when he heard her voice, a smile coming to his face as he made his way through the hallway towards her. A laugh escaped him at the sight in front of him, pictures sitting around with Viv in the middle. He maneuvered his way around, plopping down next to her and resting his head on her shoulder to look at what she was holding. “Were we drunk in that one?” He questioned, pointing at the one she was previously holding. 

vivian gave him a goofy smile as he came into the room, her heart swelling even more at his laugh. she let her head tilt a bit to rest on top of his once he was situated, her gaze moving back to the photo she was previously holding. “oh for sure, i mean why else would we think pointing at each other was necessary? at least we were both looking at the camera, where in gods name was iris looking?” she asked with a laugh, the new picture she had in her hands grabbing her attention again. “even better question, why were we hanging out of the window and who took this photo? it’s one of my favorite pictures of us but what in god’s name were we doing?”

vivian let out a soft sigh as she opened one of the last remaining boxes in her and alec’s apartment, they may have gotten the tiniest bit distracted more than a couple times and put off unpacking the non-essentials. she couldn’t help but laugh a bit at what was inside, it was filled with different pictures, most of them containing different members of the hamilton cast, some of just the couple, some in costume, some from the many cast parties, all of them accompanied by tons of amazing memories.

one she pulled out had a hand going over her mouth as she let out another laugh, it was of the cast but alec and vivian were in the front doing the goofiest poses with each other, her heart swelling a bit at the memory with her favorite curly headed goofball. “okay these need to be hung up immediately!” she called out to him with another laugh as she continued to sort through the pictures.

you should take it as a compliment, it’s not that you’re not adult, you’re just my favorite little jokester. mhm, i’m definitely not most mothers, but that doesn’t mean i won’t come help, and probably end up doing it all for you in the end.

penelope couldn’t help but let out a slight puff of air, counting the rest of the pennies she had in her hand before turning to her associate, “you’re free to leave, thank you. your check and tips are on the counter,” the girl added, pushing the now empty drawer closed with her hip, “you didn’t wanna talk seven years ago, so why the hell talk now?” she shot, making her way into the back to lock the safe up, returning after just a few moments with her bag.

vivian felt the slightest glimmer of hope when she heard the girls words, she kept herself quiet however, waiting until the girl spoke again, she wanted to give her the freedom to take this as slow or as fast as she wanted, and get any feelings or thoughts she had out in the open. “it’s not that i didn’t want to talk penny, i would have never left your side if i had any say in the matter. but i didn’t, and no one really could tell me where you were, it took me up until pretty recently to even find out you where in ohio.”

the last week had been absolute hell for penelope. her brain hadn’t stopped running since the day her sister walked into the coffee shop, and it wasn’t like she was even trying to hide it. everyone could tell that she was off, hence why her and her associates decided to close up early - there was no one there to stop her, and even if julien was there, she couldn’t imagine he’d be complaining about the early closing, even if it was just a couple minutes. everything was packed up, the chairs on the tops of the tables, and the last thing penelope needed to do was count the drawers, which she had just began when she heard the bell to the door ring. looking up, penny stopped all her movements, “we’re closed.” she spoke rather harshly, shocking the girl next to her. 

vivian could have sworn she felt her heart break in her chest at the girls words, not even the words but the tone they were spoken in. she swallowed her pride as she toyed with the end of her sleeve, trying to keep her head held high. “i didn’t wanna order anything, just wanted to talk, if that was okay.” she spoke gently to the girl, keeping her distance as she stuck by the door, not wanting to overwhelm her by moving closer. “if not i can go, i um, don’t wanna hold you all up.”

vivian had been going back and forth between her thoughts and feelings for over a week now, contemplating what her next step would be. after a big push from jonell, she decided that she needed to try again, she wouldn’t give up on something she had been dreaming about for years, her sister meant to much to her. she still struggled a bit throughout the day with herself, going through pros and cons in her head and overanalyzing everything until it had gotten later in the day and if she didnt leave right then, she would lose her chance. so she sucked it up and made her way to the lima bean, making it in with about 15 minutes to spare she made her way into the shop, her hands fidgeting with nerves.

penelope nodded her head slowly, clicking a few buttons on the touch pad, keeping her head down as she did so. her movements were quick, almost mindless, seeing as she had almost all the tasks of this job engrained in her brain by this point, “great - flat white, regular milk okay?” she asked, clicking a few more buttons as she received the answer. the voice coming from the other woman raised a bit of a flag for the girl, but most familiar tone’s did that to her on a daily basis. so like usual, she didn’t bother paying any mind to it as she went about her usual questions and motions to completing the order, “and a name for the order?”

vivian could feel her breath catching in her throat, trying to calm it she tried to take in a deep breath without making it too obvious, thankfully she had a lot of practice at that. she just nodded her head a bit at the question, a meek “yes.” leaving her lips as she didn’t completely trust her voice. her brain was screaming at her, on one hand she wanted to bolt out that door and never look back, but on the other she knew she needed to face this and her head on. she inhaled another breath before she spoke. “it’s uh, it’s v-vivian.” she sputtered out, her eyes locked on the girl.
