Hey :)

Here are some ground rules/things you might wanna know for this blog:

- We tag our recs (and posts in general) with the name of the person who posted it.

Fx. #mod name

- Feel free to self-promote or recommend a fic and we’ll pass it on! (Do this by submitting a post - if you would like your recommendation to be given anonymously just let us know and we’ll keep you anonymous)

- If you have any requests just use the requests/questions.

- The fics we recommend might not always be centered only on sbi, but they’ll always be included, even if it’s not all of them.

- We don’t do dnf fics, but we recommend checking out @dnf-fic-recs​ if that’s what you’re looking for :)

- Racism, homophobia, transphobia and such things aren’t tolerated. You will be blocked.

- Also, please let us know if any of the fics we recommend are offensive any way, or if the fic includes something the sbi’s aren’t comfortable with, so that we can delete the recommendation.

We're looking for someone to take over this blog!

As some of you might've noticed, this blog has been almost entirely inactive for the past six months. This is mainly due to the facts that previous mods have become less active in the mcyt fandom. That's why we're looking for someone to (completely) take over this blog! Meaning all previous mods will completely inactive.

So if you're interested in reccomending sbi fics to hundreds of fellow mcyt fans, send us a message! :)

(Keep in mind that you can be multiple people running the blog, if you don't want to do it on your own!)

do you know of any mental health heavy fics involving some/any of the sbi

encompass is a series that i really enjoy reading and it’s very mental health heavy - it’s a foster au, Tommy has ADHD, Techno is Autistic, Wilbur has anxiety and is intersex and trans, Ranboo is also autistic and has memory issues - it’s an ongoing series but is almost over, everyone gets a moment to shine in their own fic :D i’d say give it a shot if you haven’t yet! (remember to read the tags on each fic, and there are trigger warnings at the beginning of each chapter)

Official Summary:

Gunfire continued overhead- a man two people down fell back, blood gushing from his shoulder. Another man was on him in an instant, staunching the bleeding with dirty hands. Wilbur blinked again. Niki let go of him, and his head lolled to the side. As Niki and Jack yelled back and forth to each other, Wilbur tipped his head to the sky. Through the smoke and dirt, he could vaguely see white clouds drift northward. They were moving pretty fast.

Wilbur is drafted into a losing war between empires. Tommy is determined to never join it in the first place.

Official Summary:

“Do I have a name to call my new shadow?” Techno called out behind him, as he scouted the perimeter of the forest. The forest trees were thick, roots the width of his waist. Creeping vines hung above him, curling around the trunk like arms. He wondered how long they’ll be playing this game.

“Philza,” came the reply. It caught Techno off guard, and he barely caught himself from snagging his foot on a crawling end of a tree root.

Philza. A strange name. It felt ancient somehow, like when ancient text is transcribed into modern tongue.

“Are you human, Philza?”

There was no answer, and a thicker silence than before followed.

And that had been that.

Official Summary:

“Then why?! Why let them use the people I care about against me?!”

Tommy turned away, biting down what he wanted to say. 'Because it’s already too late for me. They already have someone. Because the person I care about is being used too.'

16-year-old Tommy is a mindwalker, born with the ability to enter a person's mindscape and manipulate it from within.

Now he's being forced to use that power to help Dream, despite everything in him wanting to rebel. But he can't.

Dream has his best friend and Tommy would do anything to keep him safe.

Official Summary:

"'Sorry, didn’t mean for that to slip out,' Ranboo apologizes, at the same time processing that he has somehow made it to the top of a staircase, with Tubbo leading the way down. Tubbo shrugs like it’s not a big deal, and turns around to continue heading down the stairs. The living room is a miscellany of furniture; three separate loveseats in different styles, not a matching pillow between them, one glass coffee table and one of an intricately carved dark wood, plants and books and papers and toys and crafts strewn around like the whole room was hit by a very centralized tornado. But, there’s definitely a pattern to it all. It’s homey."

A guy with no memory of the past few months walks into a foster home. This isn't a joke, how did he get here?

Official Summary:

"I saw all of existence at once. Thunder booms through the open air, shaking everything from the ground up. Streaks of lightning web out from a single, undefinable point, casting silver linings to the dark clouds swirling ominously above. Strong wind pushes golden stalks of field grass closer and closer to the soil as a cacophony builds, demanding every bit of noise be heard, all the way out to the cosmos. A rumbling grows louder, as if the steady beating of hooves had chosen to accompany the flashy show in the sky instead of its usual companion, riding just beneath the gale that threatens to topple anything in its way. Hard, fast rain cuts streaks of its own through the greenery, striking the ground with the fury of a fox ready for prey. I saw a dark storm, a living hunger eating it from within."

Ranboo wakes up to an unfamiliar house, a weird blend of a family, and few memories to their name. Because of course they do.

Official Summary:

“Well, why do I have to come? Drop me off at the nearest port! I don’t have time to come with you for your reunion shit I’ve got things to do!” At Tommy’s orders, Technoblade turned to face him. Tommy refused to shrink in on himself at Technoblade’s intimidating stance.

“That necklace belonged to him. I need to know that he’s safe.” Technoblade answered gruffly with no room for argument.

Well that sucks for him, Tommy was going to argue.

“No, no. I don’t have to go with you,” Tommy began to ramble. “My brother Wilbur taught me stranger danger. I know the rules, I’m not going anywhere with you.” Technoblade looked somewhat affronted and could begin to feel the headache that would accompany him during Tommy’s stay on The Blade. “No, I’m not going with you to meet an ‘old friend’ I have to go save Wilbur. They’re taking him to be hanged. I have to save him- we have to save him, you can help me!”

--- Or the fic where Wilbur and Tommy just want to get to L'Manburg and along the way they get adopted by a sea deity, become central figures in a war, and visit every country but L'Manburg itself.

Official Summary:

This can’t be happening.

The ring didn’t fit him less than a minute ago, and now it’s stuck. It’s stuck and Tommy’s wearing a big ‘I stole something and I’m a fucking idiot’ sign on his hand. Forget the guards, it’s expensive enough that if someone sees him wearing it he’s dead. He doubts many people would stop at just trying to pull it off of him.

He pinches himself. It hurts. This is not a nightmare. Not in the literal sense at least- it’s definitely a metaphorical nightmare. Tommy’s worst nightmare, specifically.

This is the worst day.

In which Tommy is a street kid, SBI are the royal family. And there’s magic.

He doesn't have to worry about food, or paying rent, or getting hypothermia from the broken radiator in his shitty studio. Not anymore. As a ghost he gets to be a kid again. He can do as he pleases: follow around superheroes, break into the Syndicate's evil lair, go on patrol with his favorite vigilantes, and face zero consequences.
