as for best friends, I think you can have as many as you like! personally, I'd consider my best friends to be some of the most important people in my life, more so than (real. lol) romantic relationships, which give me little fulfillment. kind of a double-edged sword because it also means I have to be very careful about who I consider close to me lest I hurt myself

I think the idea that you can only have one best friend comes from the same line of reasoning that says you can only have one partner, usually romantic. It's just unnecessary competition, and I don't really think relationships need to be ranked that way all the time

alien stage fans are soooo quick to begin employing real rhetoric used to write off victims of abuse (especially sexual) but if you say this they kill you with rocks

they are like genuinely incapable of discussing this subject with even a modicum of compassion and will write you off as homophobic for disliking a ship that has a ton of imagery of one character physically forcing his feelings on the other. its always "ermmm the antis don't like our YAOI KINGS!!" when that has nothing to do with the conversation at hand (how to analyze and portray their dynamic in a way that is respectful to real life assault)

#clarification i like the characters as portrayed in canon even if i disagree with some of how they are presented #my issue lies with the fanon #and also some of the au stuff but i just cant be asked to care.

when you talk to people that are sex repulsed you in fact shouldn’t look for loopholes where you can talk about sex around them anyway, and especially with them. you shouldn’t try and guilt them for being repulsed and you certainly shouldn’t push sexual topics anyway
