Making it Work

Marley quirked an eyebrow. “I dunno about that, you’re putting me on a pretty high pedestal there.” Grace was one of the timeless beauties of the world, and even on the days when she felt most confident she’d never place herself in that kind of company. After a kiss like that, though, she was willing to take pretty much any compliment that Scarlett wanted to give her. “Absolutely, m’lady,” she agreed, taking a seat at the table with a smile that she just couldn’t wipe from her face. “Lasagna is always a good bet,” she agreed easily. “Garfield loved it for a reason.”
“Well, duh, because my girlfriend is the most beautiful woman in the world to me.” Was her cheeky response, meaning every word. She was absolutely besotted with Marley, and wasn’t ashamed to admit it. “Not sure Garfield’s word can be taken that seriously, he is a spoiled asshole, after all.” The blonde said with a raised eyebrow, before digging into her food. She was pretty proud of what she had accomplished, and was hopeful that the rest of the night went by just as smoothly. “Tell me something I don’t know about you yet, love.”
