Volume 49 cover is so peak!!
Chapter 180 Teaser
The opening to Season 4 of Mairimashita! Iruma-kun has Ameri wearing the dress she wore during the Deviculum, which means we will get their dance animated soon!
Darkelion
A fic about Dantalion Dali and Stolas Suzy. Guys they have such a nice dynamic you have to believe me. Yes I know they don't have much screen time, but trust me.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/81756936
Here's the synopsis: Dali enjoyed teaching, but sometimes the students could get out of hand. It was apparent when he was driven to his Evil Cycle right after the Battler Party, but thankfully he had someone to help him through it, Suzy. To show his appreciation, Dali gives her two flowers, but it seems he may have made a mistake.
Spoilers for Chapter 436 of Mairimashita! Iruma-kun
We got a glimpse of Irumeri in between Henri's flashback. Although I would say that Henri's love story with Merize is also some more evidence for Irumeri, but I'll get to that after the backstory.
Happy birthday Ameri your gift is angst. Also bear with me until I can post another "analysis" of Irumeri.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/81112951
Since it didn't properly link, it's called "Don't Think Twice" and the synopsis is: Iruma has finally reached rank Vav and true to her words, Ameri confesses her feelings to Iruma. Iruma seemingly reciprocates her feelings, but the longer their relationship lasts the more Ameri thinks something is amiss.
Also this Irumafia moment is so good and also so sad.
So I just created a Persona 5 and Mairimashita! Iruma-kun crossover fic. I say Persona 5 but it's mainly just Yusuke and Futaba since they remind me of Iruma and Ameri. Yes this is just an excuse to write about both Irumeri and Yutaba. There's some mild/vague spoilers for the Mairimashita! Iruma-kun, it takes place after Goetia Museum Arc, but there's no explicit spoilers. Anyways, here's the synopsis:
Due to unforseen circumstances, Yusuke and Futaba have been separated from the Phantom Thieves and transported into a new world, one filled with demons. They need to find their way home, but after facing several obstacles they are forced to settle down for a bit before trying to make it home and in order to do so they must... go to school?

I'm back with an Akeharu fic and it's also loosely based off of a Jhariah song, because their songs just fic AkeHaru so well. Also go read my friend Jules' Akeharu fic, please.

Irumeri Momentes Document + Irumeri Fic
So I spent a bunch of time since December when I first fell in love with Irumeri to about Valentine's day going through the anime and manga to try and list when Iruma and Ameri had "development" together. I use the word "development" loosely because some of the moments are just them being happy for each other or worrying for the other or some dumb thing, but I still like those moments between them. I probably forgot or missed a few moments, but I tried my best. I also did my best to try and keep it organized, but it's probably still a mess. The reason I made this is because I just love Irumeri and when I want to talk about it I don't want to sift through hundreds of chapters or dozens of episodes to find what I want to talk about (although with all the pages in the document it's still a pain in the ass to find). It's also what I use to write my Irumeri posts, since I need to find a bunch of moments and my memory sucks.
A collection of all the moments between Iruma and Ameri (or just what I feel like). These timestamps probably only work for Crunchyroll’s En
Aside from that I have also created an Irumeri fic. There are mild spoilers for Chapter 351 and onwards (as well as references to events in the anime or earlier in the manga, specifically 171 coming to mind). They might be out of character and I made Iruma afraid of thunder, which I briefly explained my thought process which doesn't make sense, but the plot goes:
Ameri wants to go on a date with Iruma, but she can't find an excuse to do so. When she accidently calls Iruma she gets a date with Iruma at his house. Iruma learns about Ameri and Ameri learns a little more about Iruma, although Henri doesn't approve.

One thing I love about Irumeri is how their feelings have developed for each other throughout the story.
Spoilers for chapters 47, 51-52, 179-180, 400-408
We all know that Ameri has developed feelings for Iruma, pretty quickly. We know that Ameri fully figures out her feelings for Iruma in Chapter 52 in a very beautiful page.
But we already know that her feelings have been with her for much longer. However, I think it's good to talk about how Ameri is someone who always follows her ambition, but Iruma has sort of thrown a wrench in that. She begins to have doubts and worries that all tie back to Iruma and a lot of people notice it, specifically Smoke and Henri. Having Iruma there allows her to slow down and enjoy herself, which is shown and told to us during their reading sessions. It's been something she's wanted to to for a while. There she's able to show a part of herself she doesn't show anyone except for Iruma and goes to show how much they both compliment each other, as Iruma allows her to be vulnerable and Ameri shows Iruma how to be strong.
Now as for Iruma, we all know that he has never been good with figuring out who Ameri is to him. I even made an entire post about that, but I think that Iruma's feelings for Ameri have been there a lot earlier than we may initially think. I want to say that Iruma probably unknowingly had feelings for Ameri as soon as chapter 47. There is a single caveat, this is just my interpretation since it's hard to say anything concrete, but I do think there is some evidence for this being the case. So, I say 47 because of one specific instance:
This is where I think Iruma began to develop feelings for her, although it is more of inspiration than anything romantic, but I think it serves as a great foundation for Iruma's feelings. In the scene Ameri is being illuminated by a bright light as she looks at Iruma. He begins to look up to her, not just literally, but figuratively. She's like a star, shining brightly, but out of reach to Iruma. The anime does such a great job at adapting this page and even adds to the point of being out of reach to Iruma. And for those wondering, the scene should be Season 2 Episode 2 - Ameri's Decision - 13:44-14:01 (although it might be off by a bit depending on the site and dub). Funnily enough, I compare Ameri to a star here, but later in 180 she is compared to the moon and Iruma to the stars. It's also interesting to note that while Iruma is compared to stars in general and not the sun, in chapter 179 a demon notes how Ameri now has a bright and sparkly aura, which can be interpreted as Ameri reflecting part of Iruma's personality, just like how the moon reflects the sun's light.
To add on to the previous segment, in chapter 51, only a few chapters after it seems Iruma develops feelings, there's a scene that recontextualizes their relationship for not just Iruma, but Ameri.
In chapter 47 we had Iruma looking up to Ameri and seeing her as someone out of his reach, but here that is no longer the case. Chapter 51 reverses the situation we previously saw. Iruma cups Ameri's face and raises it to meet his gaze. Iruma is no longer looking up to her and he is close enough to hold her. It's symbolic of how their relationship has changed, even if it is more for Ameri as she realizes how much Iruma means to her. Despite Ameri being able to figure out her feelings, Iruma has yet to figure out his own feelings for her, but he is getting closer to realizing. I have already made a post about chapters 179 and 180, which has Iruma begin to see Ameri more romantically, 327 where he's finally able to express it in words (but doesn't realize what it means), and then in 400 and 401 where Iruma almost gets it, but stops himself from realizing. While I already talked about 400 and a bunch of surrounding chapters I still want to add a bit more.
Iruma never considered her a threat to him when it came to Ameri eating him, which could extend to her hurting him in general. Then in chapter 403 when Rock disguises himself as Ameri, Iruma's feelings seem to come back to him until he realizes who it is. He also gets mad at Rock for acting inappropriately with Ameri's body and tells him to stop. Then finally in 408 while Rock is disguised as Ameri he says that he's counting on Iruma, which makes Iruma blush. Whether that be because he's now stressed about what he needs to do or because he wants to hear that from Ameri is up in the air since Rock's dialogue bubble was black which could mean a variety of things. It's these little moments that continue to show how much Iruma likes Ameri, even if it is Rock pushing Iruma's buttons.
Now I'm back to talk about what Iruma thinks about Ameri in chapters 180 and 327, plus a bunch of other chapters. Also no pictures this time because they don't really serve much of a purpose and again I apologize for how unorganized this is.
SPOILERS FOR CHAPTERS 51, 88, 94 178, 180, AND 327
So I already talked about everything surrounding Iruma's answer in chapter 180 in a different post, so I'm going to talk about his answer here. After some more context.
I think it's interesting to see how Iruma is not able to put a label on his relationship with Ameri. In chapter 178 the entire misfit class is being taught by Alica and Clara the meaning of being a friend and soulmate (although their definition is a little exaggerated), Kalego, Bachiko, the janitor, all of them have labels that Iruma easily places on them, but when it comes to Ameri he is unable to quickly put a label on it. Even after mulling it over for a while he barely figures it out and only for it to crumble immediately. In chapter 180 Iruma says, "You are most wonderful when you're following your ambition and I feel like I can do my best whenever I'm with you. You showed me a goal to aim for and you're waiting for me... That's why I think you are someone I'd like to get much, much closer to..." The thing with this statement is that Iruma did not mean it in a romantic sense (as much as I wish he did). He made the statement after he finally figured out that Ameri was, in the words of Henri in 327, "A senpai you respect," which was corroborated by Iruma in 327. In 180 it seems like he had already made his mind up, but I don't think he figured it out just yet. Ameri hugs him and makes Iruma rethink his stance on who Ameri is to him. At the end of 180 Lied asks if Iruma can answer his question, but Iruma says that he is confused again which means that her embrace made him realize that she is something more and that he originally viewed her as just someone to look up to.
It makes sense. Iruma has had several little moments that show his feelings for Ameri might be romantic and I want to point out 3 chapters in specific. The first one is chapter 51 when Iruma holds Ameri's face as he comforts her and calls her a wonderful woman. Then in chapter 88 where Ameri begins to blush before asking out on a date he also blushes. The final chapter is 94, there are two moments here of note. The first one is when Iruma sees Ameri in a swimsuit and then the second moment is in the gift shop when Ameri smiles at him. In both instances he blushes and averts his gaze from her. I bring these moments up because while Iruma does not realize his feelings, these moments serve as a foundation for Iruma to realize his feelings for Ameri down the line, specifically chapter 400, but that's outside of the scope for this post.
Now I want to jump to chapter 327 where Henri begins to interrogate Iruma. Iruma repeats what he told Ameri in 180 just in a slightly different way. An interesting thing to note is what he says after restating what he told Ameri and that is, "She is a wonderful woman,". Iruma compliments Ameri as someone who isn't his senior or someone close to him, she is just someone who is wonderful regardless of her relation to him and is also what happened in chapter 51. It just goes to show how much Iruma's feelings have developed since chapter 180 and how much Iruma himself has developed since his first talk with Henri back in chapter 38. I also want to note how Iruma is colored in. He seems to bathed in a soft glowing light and this sort of pattern is used when Henri thinks about Merize which could mean that Merize is human or that Iruma reminds him of Merize (it could be both, or just the latter), but it shows an even further connection between Iruma and Ameri through the parallels between Henri and Merize (Are we calling them Henrize?). Just like how Henri gave Iruma the label that he views Ameri as a "senpai he respects", Henri then proceeds to give Iruma the label for how he views Ameri, except this time instead of telling us directly, Henri begins to remember Merize which means the label that Ameri is to Iruma is "crush", even if he doesn't realize it yet or even 400 chapters in.
I wanted to talk about the Post-Music Festival Arc (specifically chapters 178-181, with some mentions of earlier chapters). So I've been going through Mairimashita! Iruma-kun again to document Irumeri moments so I can easily look back to reference moments without having to comb through each chapter or recall by memory (it's something I did for another ship) and something stood out to me when rereading chapters 178-181. This is long and unorganized so bear with me.
SPOILERS FOR CHAPTERS 171-181
(and 94, but that one is animated, it's Season 2 Episode 20)
Near the end of chapter 178 Lied asks Iruma who Ameri is to him, which leads to Iruma not knowing what to say. Then in chapter 179 we get to see more about Ameri. Demons around Babyls note that Ameri has become bright and approachable, which has been because of Iruma. In the next page we see Ameri blushing and smiling at Iruma's message.
We then see her be miffed about not having time to see Iruma since they were both busy with their respective duties. Ameri also pouts when remembering Iruma turning down her offer to join her after the Music Festival.
But if we go back to chapter 171, Iruma was in the process of accepting Ameri's invite. The only reason he didn't accept was because of Alice and Clara, only for Iruma to be confused when they won't allow him to go.
But back to the chapter at hand, Ameri begins to think about Iruma and the Misfits, thinking he only has fun with them. Then she remembers that she gets along with Iruma quite well and even went on a date with him. Iruma is one of a few people she can unwind and be her true self.
We see how much Iruma means to Ameri, not just with her words but also through her expressions (although her expressions are very easy to notice). Now the day before their reading session, Henri tells Ameri to join him at the Deviculum being held on the same day as her reading session with Iruma. We see how much she wanted to spend time with Iruma and we see her imagine what could have been, but she eventually disregards it as a silly fantasy. Then at the Deviculum, Ameri wishes to dance with someone she likes and Iruma appears in her mind, but she is broken out of her reverie when a demon comes and asks Ameri for a dance. We see her expression and hear her thoughts; she doesn't want to do it, she only swallows her pride for her father and her future. Thankfully she is saved by Iruma who asks her for a dance instead, fulfilling her wish.
What I didn't mention was that chapter 179 is called, "One Year's Distance" which obviously represents the imaginary distance between Ameri and Iruma. I have a few doubts that their relationship would be anywhere close to what it is if they were in the same year and their relationship is already well developed, regardless of their academic years. This is then somewhat confirmed with chapter 180's title, "One Centimeter's Distance" which could be interpreted as their physical distance (which would technically be 0 since she hugged him so the distance between them is 0, but I digress), but it could also be interpreted as Ameri getting over her own doubts in their relationship due to their differences in academic year, realizing that they are much closer than she initially realized.
But before we get to that I wanted to go over the chapter cover. In chapter 180 the chapter cover has the lines "The blazing crimson moon and the twinkling blue stars // All that shines in the Netherworld // Will be outshined." The comparison between beauty and celestial bodies has been prevalent in a lot of works as both the moon and stars have been points of fascination to people for a long time with how beautiful the night sky is, but with this one there is also parallels between Ameri and Iruma's colors, crimson and blue respectively. While I assume we've all seen it, I think it is just fun to see it again (just because I think the image is gorgeous).
Now back to Ameri. She begins to teach Iruma how to dance and I think it's a nice detail to point out that Iruma twirled Ameri. Now with my limited knowledge of dancing, I assume it's used by the one leading and also the taller one since the move requires the one twirling to go under the leader's arm (although height only really matters if the difference is a lot), and in this case it would be Ameri since she is the one teaching Iruma and even with the stairs he is still smaller. The thing is, Ameri wants to do a lot of things with Iruma that are kind of ruined by her stature and her strength. She wants to be feminine, wanting to be saved, wanting Iruma to hold her during their ride at Lady Levi's Aqua Case, and hold his hands (all things Ameri notes in chapter 94 or season 2 episode 20). Most of these things are impeded due to her height, being commented on by Ameri when trying to hold his hand as she complains about being too big. On a side note, their height difference always seems inconsistent. Anyways, back to the twirl. It is accompanied by Ameri comparing it to a dream as she is not only dancing with Iruma, but Iruma is doing a move that should be impossible for him, but the situation allows for Ameri to fulfill her wishes. She allows Iruma to take control to have him twirl her allowing for the roles to be correctly filled for once as she wanted.
Now I'm going to skip Iruma's discussion of what Ameri is to him since I want to go over that in a separate post when I talk about that response and his response to Henri in chapter 327. So as I mentioned a while ago, Ameri realizes that the distance between her and Iruma is not as vast as she once thought. She hugs Iruma and then expresses the same feelings. Then we see Iruma's expression to her gesture and words.
He's clearly flustered in this interaction, the heavy blush, the hand over the place where Ameri placed her head, the way his hair is a little disheveled, and his ahoge being a bit shaky. Not only do we see it, but Ameri also notices it. She blushes at not only what she did, but seems to realize that there might be something between them. Then when we go see Ameri back in school and other demons note how radiant she looks. Then Lied asks Iruma if he found out who Ameri is to him, only for Iruma to respond with that he's confused again, then seeing Ameri with a large smile.
Then in chapter 181 we have Lied spying on Ameri and Iruma and he notes that something definitely happened between them as they begin to act awkward around each other and Lied imagines them acting lovey-dovey.
I did say that the Goetia Museum arc and the few chapters after it was the turning point in their relationship, but this seems to be the true start of Iruma's feelings, with Goetia Musuem getting him closer to realizing (and I missed some moments which I want to talk about as well). Although from memory it seems that chapter 94 is the earliest we see Iruma having some sort of feelings for her, even if it was only like 2 panels, although I'm going to have to double check that statement.
Yusuke's dinner plans with the boys, but Akechi has a few complaints. More fake Phantom Thieves conversations. Akekita if you want.
Well I just spent the past two days reading Marimashita! Iruma-Kun and I fell in love with Iruma and Ameri's relationship. I could go on for hours about their relationship or how much it has been affecting my brain, but I just wanted to talk about how the Goetia Museum Arc and a few chapters after it kind of feel like a turning point in their relationship.
SPOILERS FOR CHAPTERS 393-424
______
And yes I know talking about a ship I just got into and immediately talking about spoilers, sorry.
In chapter 398 we get our first "interaction" with Ameri being surprised (and later flustered) by Iruma's appearance in the "Seeker & Stealer" event. Then the next chapter we see more of them as their first actual interaction is Ameri surprising Iruma after busting a hole in the wall beside him and then after calling out to her we see her resolve herself to catching Iruma, but no matter how ready she was to catch him she can't hide her feelings for him. After declaring her plan to catch him, we see her thinking that Iruma was looking "great" and "adorable", only to be embarrassed to speak her true feelings for Iruma. Onto chapter 400, I'm certain we've all seen it.
The rose was held by Iruma only in the cover, but it is now shared between them with Ameri holding the base and Iruma taking the flower. Ameri has been there to support Iruma who continues to shine brightly, although Iruma does also help Ameri, she has done quite a bit more for him, especially after the Museum Arc. Then onto the outfits, Iruma's white outfit contrasts with Ameri's crimson suit that is highlighted with pink and then with white like Iruma's.
Then in the actual chapter we see her love burning for Iruma to the point where she's close to revealing her true feelings before she was ready and possibly leaning in for a kiss as a byproduct of everything that is happening.
But preceeding this scene is the theory about why there are so few female devils and the final theory was that, "Once decided upon a partner, she will chase him to the ends of the Earth and inevitably, catch him." Although I think it might've been an error on the scans that I read it on, but I don't think they call the Netherworld "Earth".
But the word choice aside, Ameri did catch Iruma both physically, but also mentally. We see right after Iruma escapes that he conflates her gaze like that of a bear, which isn't innaccurate to a few of her expressions, but before doing so some of her expressions are shown and the last ones he thinks about are the ones where she has a softer expression and then after comparing her to a bear, his text bubbles are shaky and bubbly as if he's not entirely convinced himself. This is further proven when Ali comes out to talk some sense into Iruma and Iruma is too embarrassed to think of it as anything but hunger (it was hunger, just not the one he's thinking of).
Then skipping to chapter 406 we get more of Ameri's feelings about the situation and how she regrets what she did, but as long as he doesn't hate her she's fine and while I love Ameri there isn't more Irumeri content so I'll be skipping a bit more to chapter 409. I know it's not intentional, but I think it's funny that it looks like Iruma, after being transformed into Ameri, is touching Ameri's chest, even though it's just a perspective issue. Anyways skipping forward to chapter 417, Ameri is the only person to do something about Iruma entering the gate and they both end up stuck together in another realm. Then in 418 they have some fluffy moments and there's another instance where Ameri almost reveals her feelings. Iruma is grateful that Ameri jumped after him and it made him happy. Then there's a panel of the two blushing and staring at each other, which is followed by a panel of Ameri opening her mouth, hesitating to say something. She begins to say his name, but is interrupted by Ali. In the same chapter Ameri notes how her parents spent time in a Spectral Violet field which mirrors the situation they're in and means that Iruma and Ameri are just like her parents (so they obviously get married).
So then in 419 we have Ameri comforting Iruma, by hugging him, after being confronted with the human world and Iruma being comfortable in her arms.
In these "recent" chapters it seems that their relationship has been solidified. Especially with how everything is playing out. Although there's still so much left to see and I can't wait for the confession between them (and hopefully they end up together). I apologize that this isn't all too in-depth and is messy, but I just needed to talk about these two, because as soon as I saw them in chapters 10 and 11 I could not stop thinking about them.
