silent wishes

Sunday mornings were reserved for Kyle. No shenanigans, no sudden disappearances. A portion of his weekend would always be dedicated to not just the cousin that accompanied him, but the very being that he was talking to right now.
Fingers twirling on an iron cross that dangled on a thin black thread, Kyle kept his eyes focused ahead, up at the cross of the humble chapel. Around them, there were some murmurs, some prayers. Kyle always kept quiet with his wishes. And there weren’t much, but he liked ‘talking’. He enjoyed the idea of conversing with a holier and powerful being.
“Hey, Sis--” He didn’t mean it as sister as in she was his older sister, but as a nun. Although if he was to be honest, she kind of acted like one anyway. Strict like a mom, but still with the comfort of a sibling. Once upon a time, they might have been close. And she seemed nice enough. Caring, even. Kyle feels comfortable enough with her regardless if he had any memories. In a way, she was the good definition of home.
“--do you think He actually hears us?” He loosened his grip on his cross and turned to her cousin, a small smile on. He didn’t meant to ask that aloud, but it was too late to take it back. “Cause with all the nonsense i’ve been telling him he might get tired me~”
