so. there's a specific pattern in the dangerverse that perhaps has some not-so-great implications for pre-canon bose o'brien.
the scene in the henry danger finale where the danger force kids are trying to fight drex before they have their powers.
the other kids get thrown into boxes and such; drex then turns to bose, moves his hand threateningly towards him without actually making contact-
and bose immediately drops down, curled up and covering his head.
2. df season 1, "mika in the middle"
scene where the kids are reacting to a small explosion.
chapa doesn't flinch, mika & miles just blindly jerk away from the explosion-
and bose immediately drops on the spot. curls up with one hand covering his head and one over his knees.
and he holds that position even as chapa snickers at the other three and mika starts sitting up to make a face at chapa.
(he was ready, is the thing. that wasn't just moving instinctively in the opposite direction from the sound like miles and mika had- he was Ready and Prepared and Covering His Head.)
3. df season 1, "manlee men"
scene of the kids watching a scary movie with their color-coded blankets. fun cute silly scene <3 except. when the jumpscare happens, everyone screams and flinches, but-
bose is the only one to Specifically Cover His Head.
4. df season 2, "unmasked"
scene of shoutout preparing the memory wiper.
celia o'brien, smiling nervously with a slight grimace: "um- maybe you could just erase the memories of my first husband?"
bose, under his breath to miles: "she means my dad."
mika: "i can try?"
(celia smiles, and leans towards the memory wiper)
5. df season 3, "the force returns"
scene of the kids talking about celia's disappearance in mika's room.
bose: "you know what this means?"
mika: "that your mom has been married to five vice presidents?"
bose, looking resigned: "she has a thing for vices. they're her only vice."
6. timeline
bose alludes several times to the fact that he barely remembers his birth dad and knows very little about him; he left him and celia and bose doesn't know where he is now.
between bose's dad leaving and celia's relationship with vice mayor willard, celia had five other husbands.
bose's flashback in "chapa's phone home" confirms that the day he accidentally stole chapa's phone was the same day celia started dating vice mayor willard; he would have been around 7 or 8 years old.
bose's introduction in henry danger confirms that celia and vice mayor willard had just gotten married.
...so. looking past the nickelodeon sitcom of it all, i think there's a decent bit of evidence for the headcanon that bose's birth dad was physically abusive, or that one of his next few pre-canon stepdads was.
