IDK how to tell you this, but the “reason” someone is fat doesn’t fucking matter. Fat people deserve dignity, fat people deserve to be treated with respect, fat people deserve to have their healthcare concerns taken seriously and their healthcare needs met. Fat people deserve to FUCKING LIVE.

I talk a lot about my personal experiences with fatphobia in the medical field, fatphobia in my everyday life. And I am often met with “Oh, but you have a medical condition”- and I am here to tell you that it DOESN’T FUCKING MATTER. It wouldn’t matter if I had the condition I have or if I didn’t- I would STILL deserve to be treated with fucking care, respect, and dignity. All fat people deserve respect and deserve to FUCKING LIVE.

Fat people do not owe you a fucking run-down on their health history. I know I personally am very open about my health and my illnesses and disabilities, and that is because I choose to be. But not all fat people are me, and NO fat person owes you a fucking explanation or justification for their life.
