It’s the end of 2020 but the good thing is Barney and Robin are back together. I watched the alternate ending again and I believe either they got back together before the TT’s wedding or they actually get back together after this point. With what we actually know about this year quickie weddings are the thing so I think Barney and Robin remarried, they go off somewhere and get married again or and this is a big OR they never ever do divorce and are happy together.

Three scenarios to BR’s happy ending together!

1: Barney and Robin are already back together because they have been seeing each other prior to the wedding. We know that the pandemic happens so it’s likely that Robin stops traveling at this point and returns to NY, she still works but doesn’t travel anymore. So she and Barney reconnect and work things out. They find a lot of time together because they are quarantining together, Robin is back living in their apartment so they spend a lot of time together and remain divorced until after the wedding this year.

2: They don’t divorce and actually have a long distance relationship I’d like to imagine them having their individual careers and then at the end of the day go home to each other and enjoy their life together. They are never alone anymore once they got married and work whatever problem they had, making their marriage, careers and life work. But they always stay committed to each other, because they (I can’t stress enough) work. They work. They never have children and that’s okay for them they are happy childless and in their life together. I do think they compromise and make and keep promises in their marriage. They have their fun and don’t complain about life because they like where they are in their personal lives. They are mainly based in NYC but travel when they need to for work or for pleasure. They are together and aren’t ever going to give up they will always make up if they get themselves into fights.

3: Or they separate for sometime and take sometime apart but don’t divorce and when they see each other in 2020 they make up and realize they aren’t happy apart. If they did divorce and Barney had a kid Robin would actually want to be there for him and raise the child together. But I still think Ellie is BR’s daughter through a surrogate they just don’t decide to have a baby until 2020. If he had to go back to sleeping around and Ellie’s mother isn’t around Robin would help him when he needs it because being a single father is hard and it’s wearing him down so Robin is there during this bad year to help him with a young infant.

So Barney and Robin are likely to always be together in someway in the future. I hate the finale and never did like or will, I will never change my mind on that ending. But, for Barney and Robin they are happy together and are building a life together. These two care deeply for each other and no matter what they will never stop loving each other that’s why they got married. They were both finally ready to commit full to each other and they let the past and single life behind them to make their relationship work and last.
