an answer for a man who thinks that feminists hate men
we live in very hierarchical world. Actually it has never been so socially stratificated, proven within cultural materialism. If we take a closer look at this order and its different facettes, we can see political, economic and social privileges all around the planet. With historical and sociological facts we could argue that these privileges can be found strongly focused in male, white, euroamerican lives. The access to knowledge, work, politcial opinions, legal rights, science, resources, empowerment and so on has been especially limited to women (and people of color, homosexuals, political activists, religion opponents etc), because white men were in charge, and the system was for long time formulated by their perspective. I would argue that feminisms (because there can be different ideas within the principle of an idea) critize these power relations which i explained above. Which can be seen as a criticism towards men, but actually it is a confrontation of a capitalistic structural problem. So our system is the target, not a gender. But there are people who support an old understanding and order, which can be male or female. These people i do criticise, because women are no longer men's sidekicks, propagated all over subculture phenomena. And do not think that people are solely feminists or sexists or whatever. But actions and words can be feminist and sexist. My thoughts are not a lesson, but a standpoint which should open a discourse. There are men out there who believe that women are not equal to them. There are white women being racist. Its a complex story. Trudeau is shown as this ideal example here, but the content of his comment has truth in it. So I hope I could give an impression what feminism for me is! Have a good day.
