it’s so fucking funny that the beginning portion of the phm movie pretty clearly shows that grace has always been interested in and is also Not Normal about aliens (see: dissertation, classroom absolutely decked out with space stuff, very sweetly saying “welcome to earth” to the petrova line sample + how hyped up he gets when he realizes they’re cells) and then as soon as he gets the opportunity to meet an intelligent extraterrestrial life form he goes no thank you and hits da bricks

Grace and Milo both getting disgraced from their respective academic communities due to their more out there theories at the beginning of their stories made me go "oh they are similar" haha I had been wanting to draw Grace discussing his paper for a while, and here it is!

have never given even a passing glance to the predator/prey dynamic like it was never my thing. but let me tell you something. those comics exploring persistence hunter grace slowly trailing after rocky changed something in me,,,, rockys confidence that slowly becomes more and more strained,, huffing and puffing heat out of his vents,,, grace unintentionally scaring the shit out of rocky without even realizing it and being like Haha thats what you get for talking big. meanwhile rocky is like wwhat.
