“As the day wound down, the night life warmed up! Ul’dah certainly makes no effort to turn in early or sleep at all for that matter! I spent a good several hours discussing gladiatorial technique and blade theory in the esteemed Gladiator’s guild.

After that it was due time for a bit of sight seeing, there’s nothing quite like the huge vaulted dome ceilings in the higher echelons of the city. The Sultansworn fellows were a bit brisk with me, understandable, busy guarding the Sultana and what not! But I got a few to promise to some drinks at the Quicksand after their shifts. Perhaps I’ll suss out a few exclusive skills of these paladins with a few rounds in them!

“I returned to Ul’dah after a dusty trip through the great crystal formations of Western Thanalan and thought it wise to do my due diligence and see to it that I visited the esteemed guilds of knowledge in the desert jewel.

The famed Eorzean Adventurer’s Guild was happy to instruct me on where I might seek out knowledgeable masters of their arts, but I confess it took them telling me no less than three times how to locate the pugilists’ gym.

It was behind a gambling house, if you could believe it! The pretty lass at the Platinum Mirage, said gambling house, almost had me buying lottery tickets before I realized my folly!

I was much more clear in my desires the next time. While the crier tried very hard to get me to place bets on some fanciful fellow named ‘Franz the Fair’ I assured the good man I was only looking for the gladiator’s guild.

Ul’dah really does love it’s gambling! Travelers beware!”
