[ID: A digital drawing of Vil Schoenheit and Riddle Rosehearts from Twisted Wonderland. Vil is wearing a blue and purple outfit with an ombre, translucent veil, and he is resting his hand on the pommel of a sword at his hip. Riddle is wearing a white and red outfit with a blue scarf and a wide brimmed hat. He's standing holding his scarf and with a lantern floating around his head. End description.]

TWST X DND - HOUSEWARDENS
First-years
(More rambles under the cut)
These are so neat! Putting TWST boys in DnD has been something interesting I've done with my friends a couple of times, and we have some fun ideas, especially if the characters themselves were in the DnD universe, so in case you want some other suggestions, here!
Dorm leaders
Riddle would be an order domain cleric. He's definitely not a frontliner, so if he were to be born in the Forgotten Realms, he would be raised in a strict doctrine, yet without the stamina and physical strength to become a paladin. Order domain cleric makes perfect sense for him. Perhaps serving a deity like Tyr or Primus would fit him.
Leona gives a lot of trouble to everyone, it seems lol, but we decided to make him a chronurgy wizard to keep with the theme of his powerful, yet flexible, and to also give a nod to his withering ability. He has high stats across the board, so he can take a hit despite being a wizard, and his resources give him access to things like magic items that can further help with that.
Azul, while having a basis in his charisma, also has high intelligence. Eventually, we settled on a mastermind rogue for his reasoning skills and ability to talk himself out of any problem (or talk someone else into a problem). Not to mention, he's not very physically capable, so he'd rely on his speed and exploiting enemy weaknesses.
Kalim I absolutely agree with! He's a bard, specifically a creation bard, as that allows him to create small sentient items at higher levels. Carpet buddy! Maybe later on, he could get a multiclass into a wild magic sorcerer.
Vil just screamed glamor bard to us. His acting skills, his potential to manipulate others, and just his sheer vibes fit this class and subclass immaculately. He's the best example of bards who aren't just musicians, but use their charisma for other purposes.
Idia as an artificer is a no-brainer, specifically a battlesmith artificer with Ortho as his steel defender. He's squishy and prefers to hide away while Ortho takes care of his battles. He was originally supposed to be an artillerist like his parents, but the accident happened, and it changed the direction of his life.
Malleus is a draconic bloodline sorcerer, that one is clear as day. Just like Leona, though, he has access to a LOT of magic items. He also probably used the manual of bodily health to increase his HP. Magical armor that still allows him to freely cast is also included in the hoard of magical items he has.

Ace is an arcane trickster rogue, no questions asked. His parents are rogues as well, but they don't have any actual magic, unlike their son. Ace does end up going out adventuring, which they actually greatly support.
Deuce started off as a barbarian, but by the time he is at NRC, he'd be more of a redemption paladin, though he sometimes still struggles with his more violent tendencies, at least at the start. He is a wonderful protector though, and pairs the sturdiness with the strong devotion to an ideal, just like paladins should.
Jack has a few more options depending on his race. The easy way would be moon druid to empower his wildshape ability. However, he could also be a shifter by race, which would take care of Unleash Beast, and then he could spec into some subclass of fighter or monk, possibly battlemaster fighter or open hand monk.
Epel is a clear-cut berserker barbarian, there is just no argument against this. He could potentially dip his toes into something like a bard later on, just for a few enchantment spells, but that is entirely optional and would depend on how his character arc would go.
Ortho is a steel defender for Idia, so we never thought to give him a class of his own, oops.
Sebek is also very easy. The ancients paladins are sometimes called horned knights and often adorn their helmets with horns or antlers. They have a connection with the natural world and wilderness, but are also sometimes connected to the feywild. All of that makes Sebek the perfect candidate for this subclass. He's also one of the few where we knew the race right off the bat; he's a half-elf, nothing else makes sense.
2nd years
Ruggie is a thief rogue, was that ever even a question? As an extra add-on, he would have the folk hero background with cook's utensils proficiency, and probably the lucky feat, just in case. He's a bit more sturdy than your average rogue, especially when it comes to resisting poison.
Jade is, perhaps surprisingly to some, a whispers bard. There are so many reasons for this, but the main one is that whispers bards often pretend to be other kinds of bards to get people to trust them, only to then use that trust to their advantage. Basically, I'm calling Jade a fake bitch (affectionate).
Floyd is a lot simpler, clocking in as a wild magic sorcerer. There really isn't another option, there's nothing more random or chaotic than this subclass. He probably also has a fancy magic item or two that makes things even worse, something like a Wand of Wonders or something would go crazy in Floyd's hands.
Jamil was a bit of a toss-up, mainly between another whispers bard or another mastermind rogue. However, we eventually decided to go with enchantment wizard. This class offers a lot, most importantly, flexibility. Wizards can learn the most spells from a lot of different schools of magic, and Jamil is nothing if not adaptable. And this way, he can still get his enchantment buffs to simulate Snake Whisper better.
Silver is right up there with Sebek as an ancients paladin. Granted, he's a human and not a half-elf, but that's just a detail. He's been ordained for a bit longer than Sebek, so he has more experience and overall a better feel for what the service is all about, so he's calmer. He might also later multiclass into some kind of druid or ranger.
3rd years
Cater may surprise some, but we settled on valor bard as this allows him to buff his allies' damage in battle instead of just increasing their chances to hit. We also decided on a race for him: Mammon tiefling! His father being a banker would give him the ties to the tiefling bloodline that's known for being good with money, and being a tiefling would work well with his loneliness and struggle to find friends.
Trey was a little more complicated, but we eventually settled on peace cleric, to be a contrast to Riddle's order domain. Trey's main goal is to just keep the peace and good mood among everyone, and this subclass also allows him the free use of Sanctuary or Heroism, both of which would be very useful for someone in his position.
Rook we never thought about much, just didn't feel the vibes. That said, he would likely be some kind of ranger, most likely a horizon walker ranger, seeing as he focuses on non-human races most of the time.
Lilia may be another surprise. He definitely used to be a barbarian before, during his soldier days, but after coming to NRC, he would most likely be known as lore bard thanks to the many, many stories from history he can tell. That's not even mentioning how perfectly the Legend Lore spell fits in with Far Cry Cradle.
Others
We didn't think about all of the others, but here are some that we did consider!
Che'nya would be a trickery cleric. Does that mean all the childhood friend trio are clerics? Yes! Isn't that just adorable?
Mozus would be scribes wizard, potentially multiclassed with stars druid because of his appreciation for magical theory, books, and the ability to empower his spellcasting further with the constellation option of the wildshape.
Well, that was long, very sorry for hijacking your post like this! I like the idea that they wouldn't always play what they would be, after all, that would be boring. And I love your ideas for what kind of classes they might want to play, especially if they're beginner players (except Idia lol) who may not know all the subclasses and ideas they can mess around with.
