I wanted the tumblr to know about Malahayati. She was the first woman admiral in the modern world. She was an admiral of the Aceh Sultanate navy, which ruled the area of modern Aceh Province, Sumatra, Indonesia.

Her troops were drawn from Aceh's widows and the army named the "Inong Balee". When newly formed, the Inong Balee army only consisted of about 1000 widows whose husbands died in the battle against Portuguese on the Haru Sea. Then this widow's army was expanded by Keumalahayati into about 2000 soldiers, including young girls who wished to fight for Aceh.

In 1599, Dutch expedition commander Cornelis de Houtman arrived at the port of Aceh. The Sultan accepted him peacefully until de Houtman insulted him. He had already clashed with the Banten Sultanate in northwest Java before his arrival in Aceh, and, feeling arrogant, escalated the situation by challenging the Sultan. This led to his defeat at the hands of the first woman admiral in modern world, Admiral Malahayati, and her Inong Balee Army. He was killed in a duel with Malahayati on 11 September 1599.

In June 1602, Malahayati's reputation as the guardian of the Aceh Sultanate led England to choose a peaceful, diplomatic method by which to enter the Malacca Strait. A letter from Queen Elizabeth I was brought by James Lancaster to the Sultan, and it was Malahayati who led the negotiation with Lancaster.

Malahayati was killed at age 56 in combat during the Aceh expedition in 1606 while defending at Teuluk Krueng Raya from the Portuguese fleet.

In my culture, women don't take their husband's name. So, I will not. But if he asked me to change it, I don't mind changing my name, but I guess he would never even suggest that. In our culture even the children doesn't bear their father names (I don't). But I don't like this naming culture of ours, I wished I bear my father last name officially. So, in the future, I'd like to add my partner last name to our children. It will be proper me thinks.

I've been so busy with real life that I didn't visit my blorbo for months 😔 I miss em but I prefer sleep after doing so many things all day 😔

So I found Aaron Bushnell's reddit and went through his comments/posts. That young man was well read and stable as they can be. Nothing in his writings pointed to someone who was "unstable" or "brainwashed".

He held leftist and anarchist ideals. He belong to the ACAB subreddit. He recognized the evil of the US Military even though he himself was a part of it. He hated TERFS and called out fatphobia. He understood the dangers of white supremecy and the evils of capitalism.

He had a cat. He liked the show fleabag and played elden ring.

Apparently in his will he wants to leave any money in his name to palestinian relief funds. He was trying to find a new owner for his cat.

Rest in peace Aaron Bushnell. The world won't forget & we sure as fuck won't let the media paint you out to be some crazy conspiracy theorist who had no idea what he was doing.

i dont think there is a word yet that can describe how absolutely vile israel is. they killed thirsty children by targeting a water tank.

how inhumane do you have to be to support this, to fund this, to excuse this, to ignore this and pretend as if it isn’t going on?
