thinking about when i was a kid and a little stupid and i saw screenshots of then-upcoming The Sims 1 in a magazine and i thought "Cancer" on the create-a-sim screen meant you could give your characters illnesses and i was so hyped because wow how detailed is this thing? and then it turned out to be cancer as in the zodiac sign

thinking about when i found SimEarth in a bargain bin in 2000 and thought this screen with the bird picture on the back of the box meant you could fully adjust what every species looks like and then it turned out it's really just a static picture

thinking about when Spore was being announced and it seemed like it had an infinite level of detail from microorganisms to galaxies so with endless faith in my heart i somehow convinced myself it could eventually simulate anything and would be the last video game i'd ever need

Top: it is well known among Super Paper Mario enthusiasts that the Korean version of the game contains a set of 11 unused areas that appear to have been a test or prototype for a new game in the same engine, referred to as "Korean Cat Adventure" due to the absence of an official name.

The rooms are designed in the same colorful style as the rest of the game, but contain five cat characters that are named after various character designers at Intelligent Systems. Evidently, the Korean Cat Adventure concept was abandoned, as no other material related to it was ever published.

Bottom: however, merely viewing the extracted graphics on their own does not provide a scale for how large the characters would have been. By loading the rooms in-game through modifying the code, Mario can explore them and compare himself to the cats, which reveals that they would have been approximately 1.3 times his height.

I guess I was feeling a particularly special kind of neurodivergent today bc I spent a while determining that natsumi's exact model of watch in the OVA's first episode is a Casio G-SHOCK DW-6100J-1 introduced in june 1992

this also means that, if her watch were to be shown in the manga, it would for certain be a different model, considering it ended in may 1992. I wanted to check this for myself, but only up to file 32 are available anywhere I could find, and none of those files show her watch nor cover the introduction housing this specific shot of her watch.

also, a lot of very lesbian scenes in the anime weren't present at all in the manga. I think it's funny they added gay scenes For Fun, I Guess
