okay theory that Squall is dead or dying stolen moments style and/or using tempus and HE’S the one who reincarnated into Morrigan. And that’s why he teaches her “like they’re running out of time.” That’s why they have the same eyes. That’s why they know each other’s songs.

On the one hand, Squall seems fabulously evil. On the other, this series seems to have a lot to say about propaganda and censorship and both the public and he himself have made him into such a boogeyman that I find it hard to fully believe. What’s the real answer? Idk.

Sometimes having an OC is like "this character is an outlet for my insecurity and trauma" and sometimes it's like "this character is an outlet for my love of vampires :)". Sometimes it's both

Yeah so the massacre almost has to have happened on eventide. And then because the wundersmiths died their reincarnations were born then as well, and so on and on it goes for generations, and squall kills them on yet another eventide and so the cycle continues

I really like Ezra Squall as a character a lot, but a large part of that liking is the desire to see him get punched in the face at least once. Like it is not a want it is a need

EZRA SQUALL.

He is the evilest man to ever live. He’s mild and calm. He has killer sarcasm and always has cutting insults at the ready.

He was once just a boy, making faces at his best friend and glowing from every bit of praise from his teachers. He massacred them all when they stood in his way.

He is the best teacher Morrigan has ever had. He is always there when she needs help most, not to support her but to urge her to pick herself up, be stronger, be better in a world that wants to crush her down and make her meek. He created the Hollowpox and couldn’t care less about the damage it did.

He is in love with Wunder as it is in love with him. He turned the title “Wundersmith” into a scary bedtime story, a thing to be feared and hated.

He loves Nevermoor more than anything. He tried to conquer her as his own, leaving monsters that lurk in the shadows in his wake. Banished from the one place he loves most, he is left to walk her streets as a ghost, seeing but never touching, never being there. He would slaughter millions and raze civilisations to the ground to get back in. He gave up his one chance for entry because it would allow Wintersea in with him. He loves Nevermoor more than he wants it for himself.

ezra sees himself in jupiter in a way that jupiter is his past self, a well recognized and celebrated member of the wundrous society. he obviously envies the feeling of being loved by nevermoorians, but jupiter is also a reminder to him that if he would have stayed in the society, they would also abuse his knack for their advantage.

jupiter sees himself in ezra in a way that ezra is what he could become if he had lost the support of the society and the league. if he would lost the hotel’s staff and all of his society siblings. he obviously condemns ezra’s actions, but can’t think about how free felt after he had left the society.

they are each other’s foil, i can’t not think about them in this way
